Oh, I am so excited that they finally gave you your own message board.

I just have to tell you that I loved you as Ethan, you quickly became my second favorite character on the show (well Locke is first of course). You do creepy so well. After seeing you on lost I went out to watch all your movies, You do nice guy roles just as smoothly. I keep hopeing that we are going to see your face reappear on the show. I miss Ethan.

Ok so a question, What other movies do you have lined up in the coming months? I saw that you were in Lords of Dog town, did you have to do any skateboarding, or is your character a different type?

Mapother you rock

another marvelously appreciative post. okay, so maybe i'm liking this posting thing more than i expected...
thanks for the compliments on ethan. sometimes he even creeps me out when i watch the final version. creeping yourself out -- talk about weird.
other movies--i have a small part in 'lords' as the live-in boyfriend of emile hirsch's mom. that's out in june. i also had a few scenes in a small comedy featuring john heder ('nap. dynamite'), but that has no release yet. finally, i had a fun scene as a 30s actor in a colin farrell/salma hayek movie that'll be out this fall. now i'm considering my next job...
thanks

;D Well hello

A movie with John Heder, that sounds cool. I read over in another post that you liked comidies. How did you like Napoleon Dynamite? That movie is one of my favorites.
It sure sounds like you are keeping yourself busy.

How do you choose the roles you play? You're kind of all over the board.
Are you trying to work your way up to larger roles, or are you fine with the smaller ones. (smaller?) There are no small roles, only small actors, right?

Creeping yourself out while you watch lost isn't wierd, its good acting.

William, thank you so much for replying to everyones post, we know you are busy. This really means a lot to us.

loved 'n.d.' i only have a scene or two with john, but in one of them i kept making him repeat his line b/c he was cracking me up.
role choosing is done case by case, in my case, at least. if it's interesting, challenging, with good people -- if it's paying work, in short -- i'm in.

Hello Mapother ( I really like that name)
Its me again with somemore questions. I know that you are becoming very popular here so I will try to keep them short.

I read somewhere that you were a teacher becore you started acting. To me teaching is greatest job anyone can take on, there is just so much to give from it. So how did you decide to go from being a teacher to being an actor? Thats quite a jump.

And one more. There are many people, myself being one of them, who believe that ethan was a clone. My evidence is that Ethan was watching a Golf game while Claire was sleeping at the caves, alone. So how do you feel about this possible theory?

Again, thank you so much for doing this ;D

teaching to acting.. i don't know how it happened. i realized teaching wasn't right for me then, and i'd always loved movies, so i tried acting and suprised myself with how much i liked it..
i'm a bit lost on the theory. ethan did watch the golf game, but i don't remember his supposed to have been with claire then. wasn't she dreaming? forgive me, but i only saw the episode once. working inside the show means i sometimes examine the implications less closely than if i were watching.

Ok,
In Solitary, when Ethan was watching golf, Walt showed up and basically said that he and Claire were alone at the caves. But he left to see what everyone else was doing, and that Claire was taking a nap.
And the next episode is the one where Ethan, and whoever else, abducted Claire and Charlie.
So my belief is that the Ethan who hunted with Locke wasn't the same one who took Charlie and Claire.
But I could be way off base on this one. I was just trying to think of the many ways you could come back to the show.:)

i understand, but when ethan met up with charlie and claire, wasn't that much later than the golf course scene? everyone else from the golf course was already back at the caves. again, my recollection is hardly perfect...
regardless, your efforts for my reappearance are appreciated.

Hello again Mr. Mapother,

I read in another post that you tried your hand in writing screenplays. What type did you write? Are you still writing? If so is there any chance of seeing your work come to life?

hehe. I just couldn't stay away. Again Thanks for replying to your fans.

my pilot 'threshold' got picked up by cbs to start in september. it's about an alien visitation..

That sounds so cool, anything with aliens is gold in my book. I just hope that it wont keep you from coming back to Lost when they need Ethan. I'VE FIGURED IT OUT!!!! even if ethan doesnt come back from the dead. We still need to see Claire's Flash backs of when she was taken. And just how would they do that with out you.

What about war of the Worlds, thats going to be one kick *** movie. Are you going to see it, maybe at the premiere. I'm going to try to see it, I'm a little behind in my movie watching, but I'll surely try to get to the theaters for this one.

Oh one question thats popping into my mind while I wait for another site to load.
Since you are in to comedy and all, do you read the daily comic strips in your local paper? I love comic strips. I'm waiting for my Getfuzzy strip to load so that I can get my fix for the day.

Well, I'm sure you have many things to do. so tidally do. and congratulations on getting your show picked up.
-J-

PS- I guess I did miss you in the finale ::) ( closest thing they had to shifty eyes)
