Hey, William. I know you're dead on the show and everything, but I really think your character needs his own flashback episode.
Picture it: very first episode of season 2 . . . the entire Ethan/Charlie/Claire saga is played back from your point of view. The flashbacks would show how you came to live on the island through some horrible twist of fate. And at the end of the show - the very last 5 minutes - the audience is surprised to learn that you were never the bad guy after all. Your intentions for baby Turniphead were never obscene or malicious in the least. And, as the audience is just beginning to recover from this gigantic revelation . . . Bang! Charlie shoots you. End of story.
If that isn't good television, I'll kiss someone's butt. It would be an absolutely perfect way to begin/conclude a future season. You need to start hounding the writers to see if they can make this happen for you. Give me a phone number, and I'll even do some hounding on your behalf. Your Ethan character is just screaming to be developed, and I think that this is the only way that would come close to doing him justice.
