At the beginning of the episode 22, appears a man who goes out of the motel ( the motel where enters Kate ) who looks like Ethan, but he is more fat...

i certainly didn't shoot that scene, and i don't have any reason to believe ethan was in kate's vicinity before the plane crash. so altho i might be wrong, i'm going to answer 'no.'
