Terry, thank you for being so generous with your time tonight on the linear board.
Oh boy, I think you opened the floodgates with your offer to check questions here!*
My questions are these:
Locke is such a fantastically complex character. Do you do anything (have any rituals or prepare in any way) to get inside Locke's head before shooting?
And:
Is there anything you'd like to see happen in Locke's storyline? Jorge joked he'd like to see Hurley "get the girl"!* haa haa
Thanks again for spending time with your fans.
Sincerely,
Foxygirl

Hi Terry! Yay, you found the VIP thread!
This was buried back on Page 4, just hoping you might get a chance to answer it...

Hey, Foxygirl, Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this, I only popped on to respond to you and take a peek. Gotta go say goodbye to a few local friends and give holiday wishes. Anyway, in response to your question......I don't have any hard and fast rituals that I go through to prepare once I get to work. Most of my preparation has been done before I get there. There's a sort of transformation that happens in one's head, and I think it's true of a lot of actors, when you show up and have a bite and some java, say good morning to people, climb into your wardrobe, sit in the makeup chair, think about the scene you're about to attempt, It's a kind of unconcious preparation. I think about Locke's voice, and his attitude, and his faith, and his gratitude. And when I say faith, I don't mean religion, I haven't adressed that aspect of his character, but if he wasn't spiritual before, he certainly is now. His faith may be in the island itself and I guess time will tell if it's misplaced or not.
As for what I would like to see in his future I can honestly say, I don't know. I'm curious and excited to find out but as long as there are good scenes to play with this great cast, I'll be happy.
But I do hope Hurley gets the girl!

Hi Terry.. I don't know what to say...I'm still kind of stunned that you answered... I feel honored.
Thanks for popping in and answering my burning questions.
I loved the way you described your day...your unconscious preparation for Locke. It makes perfect sense... Especially thinking about Locke's voice-- the way he sounds, how he thinks-- his faith and gratitude.
I am struck by Locke's presence; the way carries himself and the timbre of his/your voice. He embodies this strength (both physical and emotional) and fearlessness, and yet he's not superhuman as we saw in the last episode.
I love the insight I get from reading all of the VIP answers... fascinating.
I hope to bump into you again during the hiatus, but if I don't have a wonderful holiday break with your wife and sons...
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
FoxyGirl
