What do you think of the way the situation in Iraq has been portrayed on Lost, and of how Muslims have been portrayed?

I'd really be interested to hear your thoughts since Solitary was one of my favourite episodes so far, and Sayid and Nadia are among the most interesting characters I've seen on the show.

Thank you green queen. I think what I appreciate most about the way the situation has been dealt with on the show is that they're basically keeping politics out of it. They're really boiling it down to the humanity of the people involved. Love and longing and hate and redemption. The major theme is that there is really no difference between these people on the island. Sayid could have just as easily been a gang member in Los Angeles or a rogue, corrupt police man or politician. It's about the humanity and redemption. I think the writers are doing a phenomenal job.

Thanks for your response! I agree with what you've said, I love the humanity of all the characters. Although I think the writers have actually been braver than to completely avoid politics, handling the subject in a sensitive way instead by focussing on individuals.

Thanks again :)
