Now the problem is do I keep them and watch them before season 2 starts, or do I lend them out and try to get my friends hooked before season 2 starts? (and keep hounding them to return them as quick as possible )
Perhaps the crash for the weekend strategy works for both.

I'm compiling a list of important episodes (maybe like 5 or so) so that i can do turn over pretty fast. I'm telling them all to read the summaries on the ABC site if they want to know small details as such...depending on when i get it back from the last person i *may* try to watch as much as i can before sept 21st...i'm not holding out much hope though....

I ordered mine from Amazon.com and they sent an email on Friday the 2nd that said they had shipped it that day and it was sent whatever was free shipping the USPS and it arrived on Tuesday. It probably depends on where you live, they shipped mine from somewhere around Kansas and it only had to come to Colorado so it was pretty quick, but you will get it way earlier than the estimated arrival date. If they shipped it yesterday than you will probably get it some time this week.

Thanks, Huskie. It was fairly obvious when I counted to when the counter put me. And I also figured it would be impossible to have a count down to the exact time since it airs at diff. times all over.

Probably because the whole prime time being different from the east and west coast, added with the different time zone thing. Think about it. Here in MST we will get to see the episode 1 hour after it airs on the east coast, but 2 hours before it airs on the west coast.

The problem is it starts at different times everywhere. Here in the MST zone, it starts after it does on the east coast. (At least we get it before those on the west coast)

You would probably have to download them on some sort of a file sharing progrm such as lime wire, or bearshare, or bittorrent.
But my suggestion would be to buy Season 1 on DVD, it's well worth it.
