Sometimes the network switches while on the same channel because I'm watching on a Canadian network. It just switched from CTV to Komo4 right now...anyway, at the beginning of Lost, I thought it was a Jack flashback, but then quickly realized it wasn't Jack. Maybe Sawyer. It wasn't Sawyer. Then I got really scared it did the network switching thing because all the computer stuff looked like Alias. Thankfully, the music sounded like Lost.

I was almost hyperventilating because I was afraid I was missing Lost, although I was alerted early on that whoever it was at the beginning would be someone I would recognize, as they went to such pains to hide the face.

lol! i did something similar... i knew it was lost because i saw right before it the recap thingy but at the begining i thought it was a jack flashback... then i saw the comp and thought it was a lock flashback... then i saw him typing the numbers and thought it was hurley... then the shower and i ghout it was sawyer... then i realized i should stop guessing! lol

Yes, it sure had me wondering for a minute... i knew it was the correct channel but for a split second i thought it was a commercial of some sort!
i was SO proud of myself, i pegged Desmond almost instantly as the person in the hatch..my friend was over and i was saying 'betcha a quarter that's the guy in the hatch cuz it's the right timeframe based on the music the guy was playing in the hatch vs how young Jack looked in the flashbacks...as SOON as Desmond said he was in training, for some reason i just KNEW he was going to show up in the hatch, and i already thought it was suspicious that so much time was being devoted to the flashback about this part of Jack's life...i must say though, i think it was the very FIRST time i've ever really guessed anything on this show! it was a very kewl twist...i already can't wait until next week!
hey...wasn't it TERRIFIC watching LOST win the Emmy for BEST DRAMA. my neighbors heard me hootin' and hollerin!

Yes, that's totally why they put the "Previously on LOST...," even though they just showed a whole hour of previous events. I read about the opening beforehand, but nothing could prepare me for how brilliant it actually was.

I figured it was Lost because of the "previously on..." but sometimes the network does switch right after that. Very annoying.

I was torn this summer about whether or not to read spoilers (I didn't want to know what was in the hatch). I read some, but I wasn't prepared for this. I'm glad it was still brilliant after you knew, though.

Totally I didn't want to check and miss some and another part of me was yelling but what if this isn't it, and your missing it. Got my heart racing even faster than it already was. Too funny.

:lol: so, I wasn't alone on that, lol. I thought the same thing for the moment. I even pressed the "info" button on the remote just to be sure.

I thought it was some weird commercial for some other show or some product! :24:

It def threw me a little. But I saw the opening thing on Desmonds eye, so I figured I was on teh right channel. But I kept trying to guess who's flashback it was. I thought Jack at first... then Sayid for a second, then in the shower I was convinced it was Sawyer. What a shocker though. Once the guy heard the explosion I yelled, hes in teh hatch, omg!!!!

For some reason, that whole scene totally reminded me of that X-Files ep, I think it was called "Mutato", with the guy who creeps into women's houses and impregnates them in their sleep, all the while blaring Cher's "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore".

Yeah, I was sitting there thinking "what the hell?" Cause Tivo sometimes records a different channel even though it SAYS it's the correct one. I still had just seen the "previously on.." but it got me!

Yeah...here in MN we were having tornados/thunderstorms and as 8:00 was approaching I was getting so mad b/c I knew that the weather would stay on (the wind was howling and there was constant lightning, but I only cared about seeing the show)...but then they announced that they would be playing Lost on their alternate affiliated channel and I got excited so I turned it there, but then thought it was the wrong show as well because of the beginning but then I realized what was happening and I loved it!! It still was annoying b/c they had that weather window/scroller thing up, which is so distracting...but I guess we do need to pay attention to the weather too...haha

This is EXACTLY what I thought! I was really frusterated for each one as I knew somehow that the guesses were wrong almost immediately, but it took til the hatch blew before I had the big "Ohhhhhhh" moment. :) I didn't read spoilers either, not a one... all new to me and so far I'm hooked all over again. :)

Komo4? Yay Seattle! I'm at school in Pullman right now...but I'd be watching Komo4 if I was back there. Yay. (Are you freaked out about the earthquake thing btw? I am because all of my family's in Seattle)

Anyway...yeah...weird, huh? I read spoilers so I wasn't shocked at all, I just paid extra close attention. No more spoilers for me though...they definitely ruined it. Though the Walt thing still freaked me out a lot and the end was very scary as well.

How could you doubt once they showed and eye opening?

All I could think through the whole opening was:

Unfortunately I read the spoiler thread for the premeire so I knew what I was watching. I really wish I hadn't read it cause I probably would've enjoyed it more. :frown:

Yea I was totally freaking out. I was like THIS IS NOT LOST!!! I had to check the channel twice to see what was going on. But what a intro!

Yes I was very confused, especially because of the music. But then I realized that the abc logo was there and they were not showing his face for a reason. I just figured the guy to be a young locke.

I wonder how tonight will open. I havent read anything at all about it. Im trying to be spoiler free. So, I don't even know who's flashbacks there will be.

speaking of taping! i had to be at a charity event tonight and taped the episode (#2)..when i came home and tried to watch it the tape STOPPED right after Sawyer said something like 'the tide carried us back' ...GEEEEEEZ!!! i don't know if the satellite went down or what... anyone care to give me a recap? i can't believe i am not gonna get to see it!

I was afraid to switch the channel in case I missed something...but I was also scared I was missing Lost if I wasn't on the right channel. Dilemma dilemma.

That's why it's so odd it was Desmond's eye in the beginning. Also, in a few of the episodes, it doesn't start with an eye (as in the ep last night)
