I bet the magnet has something to do with it. The one that was pulling Jack's key from around his neck. One powerful enough to screw up a compass, or maybe even bring down a plane?

Interesting theory about the magnets helping... chiense and eastern medicines do include uses of magnets sometime... hmmm, something interesting to look up...

very true. unless there are varying intensities. and since the crash the intensity has been turned down. almost off at points (which is when locke's legs began to give out?)

did you notice tho that the magnet was like sealed up... the doorway that was pulling his key had buckets and cement just piled at the bottom foot of it... and beams inf ront of it

Unless it wasn't being powered full blast at that moment Jack walked by, tuned to a low setting because it wasn't being used? :)
