Remember what Nadia wrote on the photo for Sayid "You’ll find me in the next life, if not this one" ... and then tonight we hear Desmond say to Jack, "See you in the next life"

Hmmmmmmm, was my response after he said that; Perhaps this is the island that allows you to right your wrongs? Live your life over again? (Tabula Rasa - all starting with a clean slate ... a new life, the next life) I know I'm yammering, lol and I know it's not purgatory, i just found that very interesting how the writers will re-use similar quotes for other characters.

it also reminded me of Papa Locke's words "see you on the other side" to John Locke in the hospital .... hmmmm

Does anyone recall if Kate or Sawyer had a similar saying in their lives?

Sawyer had 'it'll come back around'

not sure if it relates though.

Awwww, garsh! I feel absurdly special that you're stealing it, lol

Hmmm as for the others? I'll have to ponder *wanders off pondering*

Well, while not exactly the same thought it does relate. It's still a revisiting of something or someone from his past.

Since Jack is seeing Desmond, from his past, I wonder if they will all see people from their pasts in the hatch?

I'd thought that we might see Desmon(d) in all of the castaways's pasts in future flashbacks. Just a thought though.

Ooooh, I forgot about that, and that is similar to Desmond's "See you in another life", as in "See you in an other life." ("See you on the other side.") Wow! We've really been given hints galore!

So many off-island others, so little time!

P.S. Think, guys: Did Claire's psychic say anything similar to her? He has "other" written all over him!

I don't know but Nadia said something similar to Sayid.

omg, guys!!!!!!! I FOUND IT! I read the transcript of Claire's dialog with the "psychic" and check THIS bad boy out (italicized item added by me at beginning, for clarification; bolded item is bolded by me because CHECK IT OUT!):

"Malkin (that's the name of the psychic): There is no happy life. Not for this child, not without you.

Claire: I don't. . .

Malkin: It can't be another. You mustn't allow another to raise your baby."

:o It can't be an OTHER! You mustn't allow an OTHER to raise your baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whoa. Seems he was trying to warn her. Yet it also seems he was in on it, as he specifically told her to get on flight 815, no other flight, and he KNEW it was going to crash right in Other Central.

What to make of all this, what to make of all this...

Obsessed, OUT!

Hmmm, half of me likes it and the other half doesn't. (For the record, I hate when that happens! LOL) I guess I'm just having trouble with Another being turned into An Other, especially when it says Another in the eppy title. And it seems that the Others were not after Aaron but Walt. So, I'm not too sure if this is what is seems. But I'm willing to go along for the ride to find out!

I've been thinking over all of this, too. Nadia says "You'll find me in the next life", Desmond says "See you in another life, brother". Locke says, "On this island, we all get a new life." There is definately some significance to all of it.

Oh, I think the others are interested in both Aaron and Walt. But I think they did whatever they needed to do to Aaron for now, that is why Claire was released. I am not of the school of thought that she escaped on her own (and I'm not sure how Danielle figures into all of this, but she was in the mix, apparently), I think that, when the others got done doing their otherly thaaang to Aaron, in vitro no less, they somehow erased Claire's memory of the whole thing with some sort of drug and released her into the welcoming bossom of the "Dark Territory" :D . They are not at all done with their interest in Aaron, me thinks...in fact it is just the beginning there. Great danger surrounds this child, remember! As for our Walt, I definitely think it was he they were referring to when Danielle heard them whisper that they were "coming for the boy" (and then, sure enough, they told the rafters that "the thing is, we're going to have to take the boy").

Let's face it, Lost Island is not exactly a safety zone for anyone from age pre-O through about 18...and it isn't a walk in the park once you are old enough to vote, either *lol*!

Very good, LockeFan!! You know I had totally forgotten about the fact that they might have still done something to Claire's baby when she was abducted! Maybe she was unconcious for the process and that's why she doesn't recall anything? I'm not so sure that she got away on her own though. I kind of see them doing what they needed to do to the baby and then, with Claire still unconcious, leaving her out in the woods to wake up and find her way back to the rest of her camp. The reason I think this is that when Claire woke up that first time, all it seems Ethan was trying to do was inject the baby ... he wasn't trying to take Claire at that point. It wasn't until after she told everyone, and he probably realized that it wouldn't be as simple now with people on watch, that he actually took her. He must have figured that if he couldn't get to the baby to do what he needed to do, he would bring the baby to him to do it. Once what he needed to do was done, he released Calire. He then, not knowing he was going to die, knew he'd get the child after it was born.

What if Ethan was trying to inoculate the baby? Trying to protect it from the "island fever" with the same stuff Desmond injects into himself? Ethan tried to do it with Claire in a dream state (drugged?), but could not. He then had to take her and do it. He drugged her so didn't have any memories of the experience (Desmond did have some medical training), but may have used to powerful of a dose causing more memory loss than expected. Was innoculated, he let her go. The question is then what about Charlie?

When Locke, Kate, and Jack went looking for Claire and Charlie, Locke found the spot and said that there were "at least three tracks" (not sure of direct quote). Ethan -1, Charlie -2, and Desmond -3 (?). Claire could be walking (track 4) or carried by one of the other three.

This leads to a distrubing point and one that I have seldom seen discussed ... why can't Charlie remeber what happened? Maybe he can but doesn't want to admit to what took place. Maybe this is why he emptied the pistol magazine into Ethan because he did not want the "real" story to come out. This could explain how Charlie was hung because both Ethan and Desmond did it together, possible knowing that Jack and Kate were close behind and would get there in time (but almost didn't).

Okay not exactly on topic but .....

Just thought I would stop by and comment. Remember the books Sawyer was reading? the second book was " A wrinkle In Time". they are taken to a place where everyone is the same, but they are looking for their Father. There is a building that seems to control the outside world. There they find their Father. Anyway, Desmond and Ethan are being controled by someone else. My bet is it's from where ever the cable leads to in the Ocean.

While I absolutely LOVE time travel stories, I hope that's not what this is all about. I'm hoping that, while there are things that seem from "another world" so to speak, that it will somehow all be grounded in the reality. But time travel Rocks!!

GREAT thread...I can never get over how bril my fellow LOST fans are. Anyhooo, regarding Ethan possibly trying to inject Aaron with something while he was in vitro, could it instead have been that he was trying to collect something FROM Aaron while he was in vitro? Just a thought from the "dark territory" of my mind.

Whatever the case, they did SOMETHING to our little Aaron and then, imho, they erased Claire's memory. These "others" mean business, man. Run, hide, or die.

I totally agree. Claire woke up screaming saying "I was sleeping, and I woke up, and he was trying to hurt my baby! Yeah, he had this thing, like a needle, and he stabbed me with it! He was trying to hurt my baby!". I also think that he/they were not trying to hurt the baby but trying to get something from the baby. Like something needed to make a vaccine of some sort against the sickness or for whatever evil need they have. I think the whole kidnapping experience was so traumatizing to Claire she doesn't remember it. It wasn't Claire who they really wanted.. After they got what they needed from the baby they let her go.
