This doesn't add to any island mysteries..its more of a character developement scene. Jack and Charlie in the firelit cave...they are walking over to Jack's infirmary.

Charlie: Kate went out there with him?

Jack: Yeah Charlie, she went out there with him.

Charlie: Well, why did you let her go?

Jack: I didn't 'let' her do anything.

Charlie: Well, she kind of asked for your permission.

Jack: She doesn't ask for anyone's permission. (exams Charlie's head wound) She does whatever she wants.

Charlie: Yeah..all right. If she wanted to go she would have just one. Let's not forget she is a girl Jack.

Jack looks over at him.

Charlie: Maybe she wanted you to tell her NOT to go.

Camera goes to a thoughtful Jack.

Obviously Charlie has not been privy to the J/K arguments of "I'm going with you/no you're not/I'm carrying the dynammite/no your'e not!

Or it looks like Jack has finally perhaps given up and given into Kate's persona...

It would suck if the one time he didn't caution her she fell into REAL trouble.

And perhaps Kate did want to hear Jack tell her no. It wouldn't have made any difference..she would still have done what she wanted but maybe she just wanted to hear that he cared.

I don't know if these deleted scenes are canon or not...they have been allowed to be aired so we can see them.

Like I said..no island mysteries...just character development.

She wanted his support either way! Either, yes you should go and I'll come to help you, or no, you shouldn't go, I won't let you!

Come on! Kate still has those girl-boy feelings for Jack, despite scanning the horizon for Sawyer before their hike to the Black Rock in Exodus. What I find hard to believe is that Charlie has such good relationship insight! Way to go, Charlie-boy~!

Thank God, it's just character developement. I thought I missed something.
