In the previews the word "quarantine" inside the hatch was in red lettering, in the actual episode it looked black. I don't know why this is bugging me, but is a scene missing or was it altered?

Probably not important.

I think that it looked black in the dark, but when the light was closer to it, it was actually in red.

Nothing is an accident.

I am remember seeing it covered elsewhere earlier on this board... but i would bet it is a different view of a different hatch.

Yeah and the commercial immediately following the episode showed the version with the red lettering.

I mentioned some of this kind of information in the subject about why walt was dripping wet. You might want to check it out.

No, you're right. There was no way that the lettering was red and that clear. I remember it was hard to distinguish.

It's no doubt a different sign. I hope it's not just a crappy continuity thing they let go.

Speaking somewhat about continuity, the apartment's decor is distintcly late 70's early 80's, but how about the washer and dryer in this photo http://mattsshack.no-ip.org:3737/lost/index.php?file=./Lost%20Images/PDVD_003.JPG

they look very new to me, in fact I have seen ad's with them in it I can't quite figure out the models but they look really new. Anyway forgive me if this has been posted before.

New washer and dryer but no time to higher an Interior Decorator or buy a CD player with current CD's.

The washer and dryer leapt out at me too. I've spent enough time in Lowe's and Home Depot recently to recognize those models, and they certainly don't look like any of the washers and dryers I saw as a kid.

Maybe it is an attempt at product placement :)

Maybe Desmond is one of those crazy people who go for 70s decor.. but enjoy the comforts of washing 23 pairs of jeans in one load?

(I'm sorry if I offend anyone with 70s decor in their home... )

Ok...this is something that has bugged me since last season. Going back to the Black Rock, the outside of the wood crate holding the dynamite was labeled "Explosives" in a very new and very obviously modern English wording. This would fly totally in the face that this is a slave or pirate ship from either the 1700 or 1800's, which is what the ship appears to be from...particularly if it was from Africa or Mosenbique (sp?), where I believe Dutch or French was the main language for the plantation owners/slave traders.

The same goes with the wording on the hatch, beyond the obvious it was red on the commercials and its white on the actual show, not to mention the difference in typeset. The one on the commercials appears to be from the 1950s or 60's Cold War era, while the one on the actual show is the same type as what is at the Black Rock.

Also....Walt is wearing a different colored life jacket and I think his clothes were different too when he appeared to Shannon as compared to what he was wearing on the raft.

Ok....I need sleep now....so much to think about that my brain is now oozing out of my ears!
