i really liked the sayid episode with his backstory...i thought it was one of the more interesting ones to watch.

anyway...i dont watch much television (before "lost" came on, i only watched "jimmy kimmel live"), but kudos to andrea and everyone else she worked with on the set to make a show that actually makes me turn on the television every wednesday to watch.

just out of curiosity, i have a question for andrea:

do you have another job, or do you focus on acting for income? personally, id love to be able to do nothing but paint and be able to make a living off of it, but it seems like one of those jobs (such as acting, making music, writing, etc) where your success is largely determined on how other people percieve you and your work- no matter how talented you are. i guess, since i've worked at "regular" jobs since i was thirteen, i just cant wrap my head around the idea that a job such as that would be easy to come into and still pay the bills, but it seems to be working for some people.

also, would you happen to know how to get into the production part of the film industry (television or film, whichever)? i've been trying to figure out whether film school would help me out or not. currently, im a graphic design major in college, and i work at a television news station...all with the hopes of someday being able to work on the art production aspect of film.

heh, sorry for all the rambling- i'd ask advice from other people, but i dont really know anyone who makes a living working in the tv industry...plus, you seem to be cool and open about it.

thanks for posting so much around here, and have a happy holiday week! i dont know about you, but im looking forward to new years moreso than christmas.

Hey there! Thanks for your question and I hope you're having a great holiday week, as well. Well, in regard to your question, a lot of actors aren't able to fully support themselves acting, even when they've been at it for a while... Personally, I am very grateful that (for now, at least) I am able to focus on acting for my income, but it isn't always like that. If you really enjoy acting and want to make it your life's work, it's just par for the course that you're going to have to adapt your life (and your income) to a certain degree of instability-- as I'd assume is that case with all the arts (painting, music, sculpture, etc). But isn't the journey part of the adventure? Unfortunately, I can't help you much in the production aspect of the business. I really don't know about that side of it. But maybe you could direct your question to the VIPs in the creative section-- they might know more about it. I wish you luck and a wonderful new year! :)
