View Full Version : See the new promo? What do you think?
lost_knight 09-29-2005, 12:23 PM What do you think of the new promo?
I have some thougths but I need to get them together first.
From the promo...
It appears Anna-Lucia is captured too. So are all these people from the plane, or are these the Others and they have captured the other survivors?
That was the impression I got at first.
Then I also thought maybe they are from the plane and are sick. She is the only one that did not get sick.
I guess we will see.
ginger 09-29-2005, 12:35 PM My guess is that Ana has been put with them as a plant. She's pretending to be another prisoner to get info out of them. But, that's just my theory...
Lost Sailor 09-29-2005, 12:47 PM That's what I thought too Ginger.
Here's what I noticed: Desmond is running through the jungle & Hurley is in the hatch!
luvinrip 09-29-2005, 02:23 PM I didn't think that Ana Lucia was captured, just down in the hole to get info. out of Michael, Sawyer and Jin.
lost_knight 09-29-2005, 03:27 PM I didn't think that Ana Lucia was captured, just down in the hole to get info. out of Michael, Sawyer and Jin.
So if these are all tail section survivors this raises a couple of questions.
Where the main Lostaways hav still maintiained a bit of order, and still seem to be functioning as much like real life as they can. The tail section people appear more "Planet of the Apes". Why? (In the preview this is what it reminded me of with the underground prison pit. And Jin being chased by them with his arms secured.)
Do you think that they may have contracted the "sickness"?
Pistol Pete 09-29-2005, 04:50 PM I didn't think that Ana Lucia was captured, just down in the hole to get info. out of Michael, Sawyer and Jin.
She looked pretty beat up. And I dont think they'd risk Ana Lucia by putting her in the hole with 3 men they dont know. That would seem awfully dangerous to me. That would be like handing over a hostage..
JJstokes0326 09-29-2005, 05:15 PM Do we know who's flashbacks are gonna be in this one? And if so, where do you guys get this info? TV.com used to do it for season 1 but they are far too spoiler happy nowadays i think.
Ghost963 09-29-2005, 05:17 PM That big guy seemed like he was pretty capable of 'extracting' information from pretty much anyone. I don't know why they would send someone down to talk nice with them.
I think that Ana is somehow running with the Others, or was at the beginning. If they somehow got the sickness, how would Ana keep from getting it?
lost_fan737 09-29-2005, 05:57 PM That was the impression I got at first.
Then I also thought maybe they are from the plane and are sick. She is the only one that did not get sick.
I guess we will see.
Yeah thats what I thought! Except for Adewale Agbaje i still think he was on the drug plane
If you check out lostmedia.com you will find pictures of the promo for next week
One of the Pictures shows the Others with Walt. It looks like they are hidding the boat. There is no indication that they are or are not with the group that has Sawyer, Michele and Jin.

I think this is a Locke epoisode.
Don't remember which site I saw this on.
Noeland 09-29-2005, 11:28 PM That'd be all well and good but the producers have already explained they are tail section survivors that think michael, jin, and sawyer are OTHERS, and mike, jin, and tom, I mean sawyer, think the tail section survivors are OTHERS. Eventually they work it out, and join the other survivors.
So, there ya go.
Noeland---------------------------------------
lacim 09-29-2005, 11:56 PM It seemed to me that Ana Lucia was capture by those people that Michael, Swayer and Jin were caught by. The big black guy looked all jungled out, like he was wearing a loin cloth or something. It seems that there are a bunch of different groups on the Island.
Noeland 09-30-2005, 12:00 AM I know it seemed that way. :)
Think Lord of the Flies where the survivors are concerned.
joepace 09-30-2005, 05:41 AM If you look closely at the last scene of adrift and/or the promo, you will see Ana Lucia was one of the warrior tribe at the end, conveniently tucked away behind the blonde lady. She looked quite free and very much UNcaptive then.
castdownpbj 09-30-2005, 03:31 PM I think that Ana and the people that we saw at the end of Adrift are all members of the tail section, and possibly one of the smugglers from the drug plane. They're un-organized and barely surviving. Some of them may have gotten sick.
I just want to know what happens when Desmond gets out of the hatch?!?!?!
And I think that the shot they showed in the promo of Hurley in the hatch is him in the doorway to the food closet where Kate was. Kinda explains why he's standing there all shocked looking.
ONE MORE THOUGHT: At the end of the promo, when Locke is screaming about what to do, he's in the room with the computer that he typed the numbers on. Pause the video if you have it, but it looks as if the computer is knocked off the desk and hanging on by some wires. I think Locke is screaming because he doesn't know how to fix the computer, or he doesn't know whether to put the numbers in or not. Maybe before Desmond gets out of the hatch, he tells Locke to fix the computer and get those numbers in before time is up and something terrible happens.
Proximus 09-30-2005, 08:34 PM Do any of you recognize the theme from the Promo? Epic drums and chanting.. heard it in some movie.. need the theme name..
MikeToth 09-30-2005, 11:44 PM Not so much "Planet of the Apes" as "Lord of the Flies". Dog eat dog. The strongest survives.
Maybe that's the "sickness"? Trying to survive, and becoming ferrel.
luvinrip 10-01-2005, 01:04 AM In one if the promo pics it clearly shows Ana-Lucia punching Sawyer... I'm pretty sure Ana-Lucia is with the group we saw at the end of "Adrift" and the producers have said that they are indeed the tail section survivors. It's just a misunderstanding... Ana and group think Jin/Sawyer/Michael are the Others. I'm very intrigued by Desmond running through the jungle.... and what about Hurley being in the hatch??? Clearly there must be another way in the hatch because how in the world could Hurley get down the hatch the way Locke, Kate and Jack did? haha
panthers14 10-01-2005, 09:24 AM i still the think that the group jin called the others was just the tail survivors but with the twist that some of them have the sickness
LostApril 10-01-2005, 03:29 PM ugh...its only saturday....hurry up wednesday!!!
(never thought i would be so excited about a wednesday)
pengbear 10-01-2005, 03:41 PM ugh...its only saturday....hurry up wednesday!!!

Wednesday is the new Friday!!
wildjinx 10-01-2005, 10:49 PM my guess is that Ana and gang are the tailenders plus maybe a few survivors of other island crashes, but that they have had run ins with the Others and think our raftees are Others (the whole "came from the sea" association) and that is why they are being hostile and aggressive towards our boys. Maybe the tailenders also lost people to the Others, and think they are back for more? Personally, I think that the "imprisonment" treatment of Jin, Mikey and Sawyer won't last too long, and that by the end of the ep, they will be "free" to mingle with Ana's Clan.
Maniacus 10-02-2005, 04:28 AM This is a theory which I've herd quite a bit, This could all be a manufactured reality, some of the survivors display insight, and abilities which seem to interact with their enviorment on the island. It seems to me that certain things may have been in a way manifested by certain people (Locke) returned use of his legs, (Charlie) Heroin on the plane. (Walt) polar bear and the bird. The list goes on. If this was some sort of mass brain washing, or hypnosis experiment by the government, Then the entire group could be hooked up to some machines in a top secret lab somewhere, and some scientists could be experimenting on the entire lot, or it could be just one of them manufacturing the rest. Either way, The survivors are manipulating their enviorment, and don't even realize it yet.
Lost Sailor 10-02-2005, 07:28 PM What's interesting to me is the these other people Ana etc. have this jail thing set up. They must be dealing with a lot more hostility than our group, they never set anything like that up. Or they are indeed others and kidnap/capture people and need a "jail".
Bollocker 10-02-2005, 07:32 PM What's interesting to me is the these other people Ana etc. have this jail thing set up. They must be dealing with a lot more hostility than our group, they never set anything like that up. Or they are indeed others and kidnap/capture people and need a "jail".
They probably deal with more hostility because there are fewer of them?
4StringTheory 10-02-2005, 08:23 PM Less people would make it harder to hunt/fish/build, etc. It would be a harder living.
wildjinx 10-02-2005, 10:26 PM They probably deal with more hostility because there are fewer of them?
Although, according to Danielle's logic (not that that is necessarily good or sane, lol), a smaller number would be able to hide more easily ....
LucreMammon 10-03-2005, 01:02 AM I can understand why they would be a little fearful of Jin when they first meet him. Doesn't he still have that hacked up handcuff hanging from one of his wrists? He looks like he's been locked up by somebody and he can't speak English to explain himself. If I saw that, I'd probably tie him up myself.
Ghost963 10-03-2005, 02:02 AM Does anyone have thoughts on what exactly the sickness is or what happens to people who get it?
I personally want to know what is God's name would be able to get Hurley down in the hatch.
I heard somewhere that he may go down there looking for Rose or something but I can't remember why.
nonnyd 10-03-2005, 04:20 PM When you think about it, the tail section survivors have probably had a hard time. Whether or not they've seen the Others, the odds are that they landed without a doctor, a survivalist, a communications officer, or someone from a fishing village. They'd probably be without guns or knives, and without all those tasty airplane meals and a cave with fresh water. Our survivors have a *lot* of clothing and supplies from that airplane. All of that probably helped them keep a semblance of order.
Snabbygail 10-04-2005, 01:02 PM Yeah, maybe that's why it looks like they went totally native. Lord of the Flies. Do you think all of them pictured are survivors of the plane crash?
SMoK9977 10-04-2005, 02:47 PM Has anybody looked at this picture? **May be a spoiler, look at own risk**
http://www.lost-media.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=728&pos=22
What does it look like in her left hand?
HEIDICT 10-04-2005, 03:16 PM I'm thinking that AnaLucia falls down into the "jail" and this is how she ends up down there. After all, if you look at a couple of the other stills, she cleary has a gun on her. Adabese and the others would not let her have a gun if they thought she was a threat.
SMoK9977 10-04-2005, 03:29 PM It looks like she's being lowered into the "Jail". Why would she go down there if she's looking for information? They should be able to talk to each other through the "Bars". I think Michael, Jin and Sawyer lure her in somehow and overpower her.
hrhppg 10-04-2005, 03:37 PM IMO - I think Adewale Agbaje and the blond girl from Titus are not an 815ers. There could be dozens of boats and planes that crashed on the island. Maybe they've been on the island so long they banded together - safety in numbers to defend themselves from bluebeards others.
Cereline 10-04-2005, 03:47 PM I'm not sure what's going on with them, but the first thing I thought of was that some of them must have the sickness.
I can't wait to see the episode!
Does anyone have any thoughts as to why Jack looks so distraught (looks like he's crying) in the last cut scene show in the preview? What would make him THAT upset?? The only thing I can think of is that someone gets hurt or killed. Does something happen to Kate? Or, more likely, Desmond?
Also, could someone tell me who is standing in the foreground of that same scene? All you can see is dark, wiry hair. My only thought is Hurley (since he is supposed to come to the hatch) or Sayid, but I can't tell for sure...
lost_knight 10-04-2005, 06:47 PM Been a few days since I have been here, just had to catch up. I did have some thoughts over the weekend, after seeing the promo a couple more times...
1) This is a Locke episode. I think that we will finally see how Locke lost the use of this legs. I also think that it may finally come out to Jack that Locke used to be in a wheelchair. Much of this speculation comes from the preview, and I will admit that the previews are misleading sometimes.
2) I think that the underground bunker will be destroyed. The computer is probably a deadman switch that will get disrupted by Locke probably, this will lead to the whole bunker being blown up at the end of the episode.
3) Would be interesting if the tail survivors have come across the Others before and assume that Jin, Sawyer, and Michael are with them.
ozium 10-04-2005, 07:31 PM 3) Would be interesting if the tail survivors have come across the Others before and assume that Jin, Sawyer, and Michael are with them. One of the recent spoilers at spoilerfix claim that "We'll find out that the Others have killed the other survivors of Flight 815." If that is something the people we saw at the end of Adrift have seen it could probably explain their behaviour in the promo and their need for a 'prison'.
wildjinx 10-04-2005, 10:29 PM I think that the scene where Jack looks so upset has something to do with either Sarah or Christian (as in Desmond says something about them), or maybe he finally finds his father's body?
notlost, justexploring 10-09-2005, 11:01 PM So if these are all tail section survivors this raises a couple of questions.
That's what I was thinking too. Maybe, for whatever reason the tail section people are sick, like Rousseau said. I think the sickness leads to paranoia. Doesn't it seem like Jack might be getting sick? He really freaks out about everything in the episode. Why does it bother him that Locke is a man of faith and that he believes? Why should that upset him so much?
Baileysdad 10-09-2005, 11:50 PM Jack is showing signs of a complete meltdown. He is connected to all of this in some manner through Desmond and Sarah. There is something rather covert about him as his skill sets are far more than a spinal surgeon working 100 hour weeks could obtain. Perhaps he has had his brain washed and reprogramed...damn..I sound like a nut. This show does that to you.
