LOCKE

When Sawyer is in danger? And Michael? And Jin?

I think when they changed the flashback from Sawyer to Michael, they really threw the whole system out of whack. Next will be all in the hatch, and it'll be one of the raftaways.

And there is a character named "Helen" cast for this episode (Katy Segal, I believe), so it looks like we'll get to meet Locke's "dial-a-girlfriend" too ... if that is the case, I'm assuming that his FBs will take place after he lost the use of his legs (assuming it is the same Helen from Walkabout)

Well spotted. You're probably right.

That voice on the phone was NOT Katey Segal. Her voice is way too distinctive.

But, IMDB is showing that she plays Helen in "Orientation".

Well they can claim that her voice over the phone was distorted. So therfore they might pull it off.

That's what I figured ...

Well they could always assume we just aren't as big freaks as we really are and use her regardless of who was on the phone (or dub it in again in the flashback with her voice)

But you are right her voice is way to distinct for it to have been her back then.

running the risk of being wrong by putting this out here but I'm therorizing that the original Helen (the one we see tonight) is someone from his past - way before phone helen. phone helen was just a therapy tool that he is using to get over past helen. maybe past helen is the reason why locke did not have use of his legs for 4 years - car accident that killed her and paralyzed him from the waist down, maybe? she would have to be someone he met after his dad swiped his kidney since it didn't appear he had anyone visiting him in the hospital or anyone to go home to.

or really they are the same helen and i'm just trying to make locke more interesting by showing him in a light of having loved and lost.

can't wait for tonight. i have to keep telling myself - it's only a tv show, mama.

Wow that makes a lot of sense - Locke could have told phone-helen that he wants to her name to be helen so he can feel like he is talking to the real-helen from his past. That would explain the voice difference. Those phone hos will be whatever you want them to be. Phone-helen was probably a little freaked out by the fact that locke was talking to her normal instead of the phone sex stuff.

I love Katey Segal - can't wait to see her in tonights episode.

That's a good idea. Instead of saying, "Talk like a dominatrix to me," he said, "I want to call you Helen." Plus...he has hair in the spoiler with Helen and not in the scenes when he is talking to the Helen on the phone...this is a spoiler area, so I didn't use the font...

ummm no its not spoiler area. Right above the threads there are threads by the mods. There is one there about spoilers and the rules for spoilers on episode threads.

I suspect that the Helen from "Walkabout" -- the phone-sex Helen, if you will -- is just a surrogate for the original Helen, whom Locke loved and lost. We met that original Helen tonight.
