I added the DHARMA logo this afternoon while I was at work...don't tell my employer..haha.

I never considered the "orient" angle in relation to the DHARMA logo, but of course you are right.

Of course, when you start a new job, sometimes you get orientation. Basically, introducing you to new things/prodecures/etc. This could basically be a literal use of the word with the bunker (it's not really a hatch anymore, is it?) and its purpose - an orientation with the things down there/their new situation.

When I think of Orientation I think of getting to know the ropes of a job/school. I think in this case it may be even more about why they are there on the island and what else is on the island. Getting themselves "acquainted" with the island. I can't wait to find out more!!!!
