Hi Raggs,

Well, season II has taken off and we the viewers enjoy it immensely!

I noticed the mural in Desmond's shelter in "Adrift" / "Man of Faith, Man of Science" and have a technical, behind-the-scenes kind of question:

How did the process of the mural come about? Was there an artist hired to paint this mural, or was this the task of set personnel? Were you involved with it at all? And if so, did you (or if not, the writers/producers/director) knew exactly what you wanted on it, or was there room for creativity by its mysterious creator? Are there plans to preserve it once you guys are done with it (can it be preserved?) or will it have to be dismantled?

I'm not fishing for info regarding its contents, I was just wondering how it came to look as it does.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer... looking forward to seeing you post on the LB soon.

Cheers,
Petra

Hi Petragrrl,

The mural was created by the production designer, set decorator, and art department out in hawaii. I myself had nothing to do with it, nor to my knowledge did any of the other writers other than describing it briefly in script. It really came out great didn't it? As far as what is going to be done with it when the show is over (and I hole that's not for a long time) I really have no idea. It sure would be cool to have though, wouldn't it?

We're thrilled you are enjoying season 2. Hold on to your hats for tomorrow's episode. It's a doozy...

Cheers,

Raggs

Hi Raggs,

It sure would be cool to have though, wouldn't it?

It sure would... :) Perhaps someone could be gently persuaded to have a replica poster created? Not only is it related to the show, it's also a very cool piece of art...

Anyway, thanks for your quick reply. As for tomorrow's episode... since I don't own any hats I'll keep hold of my socks instead, just in case they might get rawked off... :)

Cheers,
Petra
