View Full Version : Did anybody else's TV flicker at 9:26

Posting in Melbourne, FL here. Just curious: right before Ana-Lucia and the Raftaways start marching, our TV screen flickered with green static, and the color seemed to change to a more monotone shade. Almost like the characters were being viewed on a monitor...I was half expecting the camera to pull back and show someone watching.

So...did this happen to EVERYONE'S viewing, or was it just a weird broadcast effect?

Mine did as well, then at 50:00, during one of the photo flashes, there was a weird pattern displayed for one frame right before the flash. I will try to get a screen cap

Serendipity, Diablo, where are you located? I want to make sure it's not some Florida-local effect.

The other question, then, is if the effect was intentional, or just a broadcasting flub on ABC's part...

Didn't notice anything here in TN, but I don't have HDTV, if that makes a difference.

I live in NJ and I definitely saw the flicker. I just thought it was my tv or a broadcasting error. Very interesting...

Orlando, FL saw it too!

I just figured it was crappy Brighthouse again

LOL yeah that's what we have, but I've never noticed any problems with the network channels, just the music channels and cartoon network :)

Nah, Southern Indiana here- didn't see anything strange like that. ;)

I'm in the Palm Bay/Melbourne, FL area and yes, my cable went out as well. There were some storms in our area, so I would suspect that is the issue. Brighthouse cable sucks big time, so it does not surprise me.

It was not part of the show. It could be a problem with the reception on the ABC affiliates end or with the cable provider...

We saw it here in Kansas City, MO. We have Dish Network.

NJ here, no flicker....

tenglan1
10-12-2005, 11:45 PM
Hmm, I know that nobody here was watching anything but Lost, but we might want to find out if it was something that affected other channels too. When losteytheislandman said he had dish network, it made me think some kind of interferrence i.e. solar flares, and that should affect all the channels. It sucks because everybody that comes to this board would only be watching lost, so we may never know.......

This is bizarre. I taped it and was interrupted I think around this time, consequently being out of the room. I'll check the tape and see if there's anything on it.

I didn't notice anything. I watched it on a TV that has an old school pair of bunny ears hooked up to it, so it was kinda staticy already.

Got nothing here in Oklahoma City. I have Cox if that matters and saved it on my DVR. Since I saw this thread, I slo-mo'd the whole scene before they march and got nothing. I am kinda bummed.

I do not believe this happened to me (Phoenix, AZ - HDTV). I Tivo'd it, so I'll be glad to double-check, but my guess is that it wasn't intentional.

Did anyone get a Chevrolet commercial *right after* a Special K commercial? I think they're trying to say that Locke's father owned a Chevrolet dealership because it came right after a Special K commercial and we all know that Locke has a K in it. See: LocKe.

Just joking. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Well my power went out when Hurley was talking to Charlie but it came back on about 1-2 minutes later so I don't think I missed anything that important. It sucked though and I was so mad and I was scared it wasn't going to come back on but it did.

Just curious, if so many people saw it, couldn't soemone do a screen cap? I didn't see it in Pittsburgh, but if there is something going on, then wouldn't it be necessary to see it? I would do it myself if I could, but I am not able to...
