I started crying when the look of disbelief/shock/relief crossed his face when they said Rose is fine. Now that is true love that transends *everything*.

Sigh...

I didn't cry but that was mostly due to our exchange student who was watching the show for the first time asking me question after question during the last bit.

*hold up hand*

Me. That was a lovely moment. And I bet she was saving that Apollo bar for him--remember how she told Hurley that Bernard was a candy fiend?

I also teared up with Sun and the message bottle.

Spoilers are so friggin lame...

So far this season, I have been spoiled for the identity of "Shaft" and Bernard... both from the same spoiler. I don't even have access to the spoiler boards and try to avoid them as best as I can, but the dang things pop up everywhere. Sometimes I wish the board was stricter on them

Let me tell you something crazy:

Since I live in Europe I won't be able to watch tonight's episode until Thursday afternoon to evening. However I DID follow the live thread in the LAGE (yeah, I said I wouldn't, but I am weak, live with it! *g* ).

So I knew basicially what had been happening, went to lostlinks.net and watched the promo for 2.05 "... and found" and realized that the last minute of tonight's episode was running before the promo. And believe it or not: THAT ALREADY MADE ME CRY!!!

How adorable are Bernard and Rose?! I just saw that guys for a few seconds and felt like hugging him. *sigh*

I have seen some "worst ep" "best ep" stuff turning up already and I must say, while I love the theories and the search for answers I most of all love the character development and I hope that the LOST makers will NEVER decide to leave out the more silent episodes, just because they may not happen to be to everyone's taste.

The thing is: If we didn't care about the characters as much as we do then the entire show - theories and symbols and buttons and numbers included - would quite simply NOT WORK.

I was spoiled as well, but the moment itself brought me to tears. I guess that's why spoilers don't bother me so much.

Call me a sap, but I cried a few times.

Benard asking about Rose.

Hurley playing Santa Claus with the food,

Sun burying the bottle.

I guess I'm a ol' softy

Spoilers rarely bother me unless it's something HUGE. In this case, I knew Bernard was going to be among the tail section survivors since Rose told Jack she knew he was alive. It was a GREAT character based episode though, and I did cry. Teared up, wiped em away. It was very well done.

is it me, or did sawyer look like he was going to cry as well. :)

I knew it was coming, and still I cried. That scene with Bernard asking about Rose is what did it. I'm getting teary-eyed just thinking about it. How sweet. I love how the character stuff just sometimes takes you completely off gaurd. I get so caught up in theorising and speculating and thinking about the numbers and the Dharma Initiative, and then all of a sudden you're reminded that these survivors are human beings and the writers have all this emotion popping up when you least expect it. I think they do such a good job at making these characters human.

I think the Bernard/Rose reunion scene is going to require an entire box of Kleenex. :)

I cried, even though I was spoiled. I thought the episode was very bittersweet and Jorge did a wonderful job. The scene wherre he realized that he and Johnny could never be best buds again had me tearing up too.

I do wish Ana-Lucia would dial it down a notch . . . Jeez! Rambina indeed.

HELLO! ROSE AND BERNARD! I had no dry eyes, that was the best moment the whole ep!!!
Do this (if you have access to the previous episodes): Go back and watch one of the original episodes when Jack is talking to Rose and she is talking about Bernard. Then go back and watch this recent episode. Its so sweet to see Rose's devotion proven true :)

There are a few episodes that get me choked up. It is the ones with the collection of scenes at the end. In the first season there was 2 or 3 episodes that ended with a song being played and everyone is going about their business, showing how they are coping. Then at the end of Exodus, when it shows clips of everyone getting on the plane and Jack gives a quick smile to Locke, who smiles back. Hurley walks by Walt and gives him a thumbs up and Walt smiles back and so on. I had to watch that scene like 4 or 5 times (I'm going to go watch it again now).

In this episode, at the end, the music is playing, Hurley is handing out the food and the show has short clips of everyone. Those are the scenes that really choke me up for some reason.

I love those scenes too! Where do you watch your clips? Because I've become absolutely ADDICTED to the "Wash Away" music montage and I really really really want to see the music montage to "Are you sure this is where you want to be?" I can't find it online and I'm really dying to see it again.

If I HAD my DVD set I wouldn't have to scour the net, but I'm in South Louisiana where very few delivery trucks are trying to supply a city full of stores. I'm dyin here!!! :D

YAAAAAAAAAAAY ROSE I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT AS SOON AS I SAW HIM.

best thing about this entire episode. i'm so happy. and did anyone else have a feeling her husband would sort of surprise us since so many people were assuming her husband would be black?

OMG!! call me a wuss. those last few minutes were so emotional. truly truly touching. one of my favorite parts of LOST is when they end an episode like they did tonight.

i like how they all are as one. they may be stranded but they have one another, even though they have only recently met.

i <3 rose.

I knew it was coming and knew they'd find him with the rest of the tail people (even without spoilers) but it was an awesome scene all the same. The actor playing Bernard (I'm sure I'll know his name soon enough!) was so good at conveying his worry and relief, and his thankfulness for being told that she was ok.

I can't wait for the Rose/Bernard reunion now!

The only episode I got misty eyed for was one of the last ones, when Sawyer told Jack about his Dad. I thought Matthew Fox did an excellent job of being emotionally wracked but still trying to be manly and keep it together. Awesome scene.

I watched 3 times tonight and I cried at the ending with Bernard and Hurley handing out the food all 3 times. It was so nice to see real smiles from everyone, especially Aaron. The hug Hurley gave Charlie was the best. He got his Johnny back.

Teared up about Benard asking about Rose and being so relieved he cried.

I also teared up when Hurley and his friend exchanged glances after Hurley was surrounded by the media. That was truly sad because you could see the break in the friendship beginning right there.

Diela
10-13-2005, 04:24 AM
I teared up at Bernard and Rose, but what got me started in the first place was Hurley and his friend... looking at each other over the reporter's heads... knowing nothing was going to be the same.

I think emotion will really flow when Rose & Bernard finally meet....but I have this nagging feeling that the Others will kill Bernard right before he gets that chance. Imagine the scene if Rose lays the candy bar on Bernard's grave....

(Don't hate me for the above post! I hope it doesn't play out like that, but were talking LOST here!)

I was crying not with the Rose/Bernard situation (I feel that I hardly know Rose, and she seemed so confident that her husband was okay that I took it on faith). But I did cry for Hurley. What a great use of dramatic irony. The audience knows that Hurley is doomed if he claims his lottery money, but we know that he will, and we feel the agony over his decision. The look on Johnny's face and Hurley's reaction made me tear up. Then I had tears of joy when Hurley stood up to Jack and did what he felt he needed to do. That scene really got to me...

I'm not sure that Hurley would have claimed his money if the convenience store guy hadn't recognized him.

What will make me cry is if they are bringing Rose more into the plot so she can me more of a "leading lady" and then have her be the one who gets killed this year....
Any thoughts on that one?

I cried, I admit. It was so evocative with so many characters there at the end -- Rose and Bernard, Hurley, and Sun.

And Shannon sharing her food with Vincent... I cried when Vincent tried to swim out to the raft -- dogs always seem to be able to make me cry. *sniffle*

I made it without crying until Rose pocketed the candy bar and kissed her ring. Then I totally did, not a big cry just a little isn't love grand cry.
The first time LOST made me cry was the end of Walkabout when Locke is screaming to the guy about telling him what he can't do, and Terry just broke out my heart. And then they cut to him on the beach wiggling his toes and I was like a little baby girl. But I quickly remembered I am a manly man and I went and started a fight to stop feeling my feelings (that last part was a joke by the way)
The end of Special where Michael pretends to be the bad guy so Walt doesn't see how big a prick Brian was, tore me down.
Sun's moment on the beach at the end of ...In Translation got to me but that's because it was just so beautiful with the song and the beach and the beautiful women letting the go of the thing that was wrapped around her and she just stood and felt free for the first time in probably years..
Vincent swimming out to Walt in Exodus got to me too.

Never cried... but I did like the emotional side of the episode. It was good to see the show slow down at moments to get some real human emotions. WIth everything being mostly fear, surprise, and disbelief most the time, the happy relief type of emotion was good to see.

10-14-2005, 10:46 AM
I didn't cry, but then I was pretty tired when I finally got to watch the ep on Thursday night...

Anyway....I get a really creepy feeling about Rose and Bernard. I think it's because of Rose's certainty about Bernard, and how she has the ring around her neck. And how Bernard doesn't have any feeling about Rose being alive....

It's probably just me....and the way that TPTB always throw huge curveballs to us about the people on the island....
