View Full Version : Shower scene
CybeRise 10-13-2005, 02:55 AM I did us all a favor and looked through the shower scene slowly to see if there were any hidden messages in the walls behind kate and jack or something written on the towel or to see if there were any murals in the bath. So far I have turned up nothing. I will keep looking, I am sure to find something with my trusty magnifying glass. You can all thank me later.
kimbrchick 10-13-2005, 02:58 AM Ha, you're silly. :)
pattycakes 10-13-2005, 03:09 AM ... trusty magnifying glass.
Trusty?
Or lusty?

It's a dirty job but someone has to do it.

NashvilleTN 10-13-2005, 09:37 AM Well, I guess somebody should look at the walls and stuff.. I'm certainly not.

lol, I guess you were the one taking over the extremely hard duty of examining the scene where she's crawling down the ventilation shaft??
BagelsAndLockes 10-13-2005, 11:10 AM Screen Shots??? HA...
andykaufman 10-13-2005, 11:22 AM Come on, post some screencaps, please!!
Ech110 10-13-2005, 11:26 AM we should take shifts, every 108 minutes?
getmeouttahere 10-13-2005, 11:28 AM Kate mentioned that the water in the shower smelled of sulphur and when Sayid and Jack were crawling around under the floor, Sayid said the pipes were hot. This kinda sounds like Yellowstone. Anyone who's been to see Old Faithfull can tell you about the sulphur smell and the hot water coming from the ground. There's also scientific evidence that this is caused by volcanic activity under Yellowstone. Does this mean that the island is sitting on top of a volcano?
redemption 10-13-2005, 11:58 AM Thats what I thought as well. The shower scene with Kate left me with a nagging thought. Kate has not lost any of her ME FIRST tactics. She took a shower with three grown men in the hatch walking around looking in the nooks and crannies. Come on Kate.....use your head. Just the noise from the shower would have brought someone to the area to check out the new noise. Or is that what she had intended?
CybeRise 10-13-2005, 11:33 PM Dude who cares? She was in the shower then treated us to her wearing nothing but a towel. Who cares about that other stuff :p

:clapping:
elfdream 10-13-2005, 11:49 PM Naughty naughty...
All cheesecake references aside...good point about the sulfur...and I think the idea of taking a shower drove Kate temporarily insane to the point that she forget about all the guys. She just wanted to be CLEAN!
i_love_dmjgmfna 10-13-2005, 11:49 PM Dude who cares? She was in the shower then treated us to her wearing nothing but a towel. Who cares about that other stuff :p
Well, when you're a guy you care, but when you're a girl...not so much.
CybeRise 10-14-2005, 12:51 AM Ya well im sure you enjoyed it when Jack gave off the huge smile when he saw kate :)
Nay815 10-14-2005, 12:55 AM You guys with your Kate-in-the-shower and tunnel scenes are terrible but I'm still laughing at you and with you.
Guess ABC is trying to draw in a larger male audience, huh?
i_love_dmjgmfna 10-14-2005, 12:59 AM Ya well im sure you enjoyed it when Jack gave off the huge smile when he saw kate :)
Yeah...you're right.
Fogey 10-14-2005, 01:13 AM Gee thanks for checking over the shower scene for us. But I really would rather trust my own judgment on this, so I will have to repeat your effort. Hey what if their were clues hidden in the sand near where Shannon was sunning in her bikini? Maybe we should check that too!
Re sulfur - Yes the island is volcanic. The majority if not all of the islands within 8? days sail of Tahiti (Danielle’s journey) are volcanic. Also a geothermal power plant would need a heat source fairly close to the surface, they wouldn't drill down a mile or 2, so again volcanic island makes sense.

Hmmm ... just thinking back to college geology class, and I remember something about lava flows and magnetic fields ... now it's been a few years (okay, okay, more than a "few" years), so I can't remember if the lava flows are affected by the magnetic fields, or if the hardened flows themselves interact/affect the magnetic field ... anyone know? I'm just wondering if, if that's the case, that is linked to the magnetic pull in the hatch, and Locke's wonky compass.
Checked kate zoomed up alot for tatto's, didnt notice anything yet... perhaps i should go view at my friends Big screen tv aswell, u never know...
PostTenebrasLux 10-14-2005, 10:24 AM I have been mulling the volcano angle over for the past few days. Has anyone been on the Mr. Cluck"s website and gone to the links page? One of the links(named Helen) sends you to a picture of Mt. St. Helens. Coinkidink- I think not.
conspiricytheory 10-14-2005, 10:48 AM While you are all checking out the towel and the shower, I think the real place that needs to be checked in under that towel. We need to be checking Kate for hidden tattoes and marking that could be significant later. So if someone can find a picture without the towel that we can examine. That would be something I'd be interested in spearheading...

Nicely worded! lol

I've posted this to countless theads yet never get a coment.
There is a huge crater on Danielle's map. It appears to be on the North West corner of the island. No smoke comes out of it, or it would have been seen by now, but it's huge. I can't believe that, at some point, the writers won't use that crater for something important.

Over and over and over again.

Heh. Looks like somebody wanted to cover every single frame of that scene.
i_love_dmjgmfna 10-14-2005, 09:59 PM Desmond did shower recently.
How can you be sure?
crashsurvivor 10-14-2005, 10:08 PM Hey guys, I just don't see what the big deal is. I look like that in a towel too...except that I'm a blond. ;)

Prove it...
Noubourne 10-17-2005, 03:13 PM Short detour for the lava question guys.
Magnetic fields are important to Lava because Lava has elements inside it that react to magnetic fields. The particles or whatever all align as they cool based on the orientation of the magnetic field that surrounds the earth.
Researchers have used this fact to pinpoint past eruptions based on what they know about how often the Earth reverses its magnetic field (about every 750,000 years I think?), and as a side note, we're overdue for a flop right now.
Here's an article that explains it better than I can. (http://id-archserve.ucsb.edu/Anth3/Courseware/Chronology/11_Paleomag_Archaeomag.html)
I do know that many scientists believe that this magnetic field is related to the metal and spinning in the earth's core, and that it is the reason that we have an atmosphere that can sustain life (as we know it).
At any rate, good science, but not related to the show as far as I can tell.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled drooling.
ShaneR 10-17-2005, 05:02 PM As for the sulfur smell comment, hasn't anyone here ever had well water? I'm pretty sure Lafayette, Ohio isn't volcanic, and my water smelled of sulfur occasionally. It means you're low on softening salt or your water heater is getting funky.
CybeRise 10-18-2005, 01:03 AM Hey guys, I just don't see what the big deal is. I look like that in a towel too...except that I'm a blond. ;)
I would like to verify that for myself please send the pics to me at nismo300zxtt@yahoo.com Hope to hear from you soon. :hypocrit:

Dude thats Ohio. You lads are not sitting on a volcano its more like a mountain of waste :)
genghis 10-18-2005, 12:24 PM Haha! Ohio stinks!:p
I know what you mean about the sulfur smell, though. I don't think it's unusual.
