Sledgeweb is right...there are 6. Besides Ana, Shaft, Libby and Bernard, the only other ones we've seen is the dark haired chick who I believe is Cindy the flight attendant (gave Jack the vodka) and a gray bearded man that is carrying the big freakin' spiked club at the last seconds of Adrift. See lost-media for screen caps.

That's assuming a few aren't out fishing or something.

Ana does seem to run that place with an iron fist, so it's plausible that they're all there.

Hrm, now that I think about it, wasn't there also a blonde girl on the beach? I recall people comparing her to Shannon... do we think that was Libby, or someone else?

You can see there are 5 people in the capture party:

Perhaps we could do some clothing comparison to find out who the girls are? If they are Libby and Ana or two other girls?

I'm going to go check the Adrift images now and see if it's the same group of 5...

But don't you think they could have changed clothes since the day they found Sawyer, Jin, and Michael on the beach? I assumed that the blonde was Libby - but she was in a different outfit in last night's episode.

IF the ones in the hatch last night were the only ones left - then we were thinking four, and thinking "Shaft" is either from the drug plane or a descendant of the slave ship. His clothing doesn't look like the others, more "island wear." Which would make, 23 orginal survivors, and 4 left... :-)

Isn't the floor sitting girl, and the girl between Shaft and Club guy the same girl?

Also, I wasn't sure if a day had passed or not since they were captured? You think they left them in the pit overnight? I need to rewatch 2x4, I think Charlie gives an indication to how much time has passed when he's talking to Hurley (assuming the tail end story and the middle section story are in the same time).

I have been thinking all along that the white guy on the beach was Bernard, but now looking at it, I don't think it is. I think the blond is Libby though.

Isn't the tail section over by the caves/ w the fresh water the Lostaways moved to? If so, why did they move to a different part of the jungle? And if so many survived in the tail, maybe some survived in the 1st class section, there were hardly any bodies there, and if even the pilot survived....

So, I'm going to stick with my initial count:

I like the idea of 8 being left.

Why? There weren't 42 survivors from the middle section. Or 4 from the front section.

So far, we've only seen 6 but there could be a couple standing guard in different areas. If these survivors have had a rough time of it, I don't see them all coming in and chilling, especially as survivalistic as Ana's acting. Just my thoughts.

I still maintain we have seen seven tailies. It is very possible that the girl on the beach was the floor sitting girl. They do have very similar clothing.

However, when I reviewed the show this evening, I noticed that, in the previouslies, the beach girl dark hair cut shoulder length and wears no socks.

Floor sitting girl has a ponytail that goes to her mid-back and is wearing white socks.

If they are the same person, they used different extras in different scenes.

said there are 43, in the last ep.

Also we don't know how deep the rabbit hole goes. From our views of bunker 2 we could not tell if there was more to it than that or not. I think it's clear that some of them are missing, but for all we know there are six more of them out hunting during the daytime that will arrive back at the beginning of the next episode.

Yeah, I agree. But we can determine how many we've seen, and thereby create a minimum, which is 6.

No telling how many are out working on the colosal Trojan Mapinguari, which they intend to use to sneak into The Others' camp and wreak havoc.

There's a poster over at lost-forum that firmly believes that there's only 5 tailies. And he's being real crabby about it too. I'm just going to wait and see.

I'm thinking that the people on the beach were just stand-ins for the people we have names for Bernard, Kimberly, Libby .

but ana would definitly run that place a bit tight
i just cant figure out if that means she would keep them close or have them stand gaurd
