Newbie here, not sure if anyone has brought this up....

Can some one go back and check for this. It looks like Shannon in the background, when Hurley and his buddy exit the record store. After they walk off camera and it starts to fade you can just make out a skinny blonde, Shannon perhaps? Can someone please double check for this.
Also watch the Dhrama Initiative video from the Hanso web site. Tell me that when they are talking about the study of different sciences starting with meterology that the guy they show with the googles on when they mention electro magnetism is not Sayid!
Holy crap if that doesn't look like Sayid!

I didn't notice her. I loved the scene where they were singing the driveshaft song. Anyone notice it was in the "one hit wonder" section:biggrin:

It's too much out of focus to see who it is.

I checked that scene out on hdtv and the skinny blonde never comes into focus. So i guess it could be Shannon... but it could also be Claire or pretty much any other skinny blonde ever.

I'm pretty sure it's Ethan.

A blonde wig would be a cunning disguise... and we all know how cunning Ethan can be...

I think you're on to something.

Wow, bitter much? We're all posting at different times. It may be a while before you get a question answered. Chill, dude.

As for your question. I don't think it's Sayid. It's Mr. DeGroot, with goggles on. The hair's wrong for Sayid.

I think the reason why the OP is upset, isn't because he didn't get a response quick enough- but because for some reason a lot of people aren't grown up enough to either make a polite response or not post at all. If someone doesn't agree with a topic, they often resort to grade school jabs and mocking, instead of giving a more respectful response like you did concerning whether or not it was Sayid in the filmstrip. ;)

Wow, no offense was intended, man.

I went and had a look so I could answer your question about the blonde girl in that scene.

So, er, sorry...?

Ok, deep breath. Sorry. :)

I just think some people expect immediate responses to every question (even when a question has been asked many times, and in the right forum :) ) I jumped to a conclusion too. But, in my defense, the discussion on Sayid in the filmstrip really belongs over in the Orientation forum. :)

LOL!! I agree with you, on both things- it doesn't appear to be Sayid in the filmstrip, and this likely belongs in the Orientation forum.
I wasn't implicating your posts here though, when I was referring to "grade school jabs and mocking". ;) But, I do think that a lot of people (likely those that have been on this board for awhile), tend to express exasperation with newbies, repeat posts, and what they deem as silly comments and questions. I know that there is a rule here about not posting duplicate topics, but really- it can't be expected that new people will read through every single thread or post before making one of their own. I personally think that there is an awful lot of totally ridiculous, off-the-wall theories floating around here. Only, those seem to be the ones that end up with 5 star ratings and a legion of followers.
Truth is, no one but the writers knows exactly what is going on. So, a little speculation about little things (no matter how detailed and out there it may seem), should be allowed and respected, IMHO. ;)

I thought the same thing about Shannon in that scene, I paused it but it was too blurry to tell, but it sure could be her

To me it looked like RecordStoreChick and the girl in Desmond' s photo looked a lot alike... anyone else think so?

Isn't the guy in the video with the goggles the Dr. they just talked about? They were talking about him and his wife starting the project and the types of work he did and then it shows a guy in goggles in front of the metal floating deal.

Exact same thought. I was waiting for her to come into focus, but since she didn't i think it was a cowinkydink. (Sorry cant spell the real word!)

how about that being Sayid in the Dhrama video?

It's not even close to being Sayid. Just because it's a slightly dark-skinned man with a beard does not automatically make it Sayid! Also, quit whingeing.

To me she doesn't look skinny enough to be Shannon. At least in that third shot.

What if it's Jack's "wife" <uses the term loosely> Sarah??

There is another thread discussing the record store girl-Shannon thing... it's called: Was that Shannon in Hurley's flashback scene?

http://thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=22438

editted to include link to thread

OK, this stuff is reaching. That is obviously Mr. Degroot in the Hanso film with goggles on, and I seriously doubt that is Shannon's type of record store. She's a snooty rich girl.

I did think the girl behind the counter was super cute, and hope to see if Hurley had a love interest back in the world he may be missing and pining for. He hasn't mentioned it, but he has been established as they guy who never tells anyone anything. He couldn't even tell his mother they won the lottery.

i dont really know when sayid would have had time to make a video... he was in the war and then looking for his girl then with the cia...kinda... and sayid isnt quite as keep-to-himself as the other survivors... i think he would have told someone if he know what was going on

Usually when we see a key character in the background, even for an instant, they will be in focus. Since this girl is never in focus, I'm guessing that she was just another member of the Screen Extras Guild thrown in the scene.
