Anyone else feeling like Sawyer has become the show's punching bag? Enough, already!

There was no need for Ana Lucia to stomp on him several times. The man has an injured arm & is one of the survivors just like her. The only reason he had a rock in his hand was because she threw it at him first!

The guy is a wise *** but doesn't deserve to get hit for it. I was happy when he told her if she hit him again he would kill her.......

Nothing like kicking a dog when he's down and bleeding, huh? I know it makes me feel like a Bad A**. NOT!

I feel for Sawyer because he's a lot like my kids. He has the right to remain silent, just not the ability!

At least he has good comebacks, though. My kids don't appreciate the distinction.

*smiles and shakes her head hopelessly*

This is getting stupid. I know we live in a society that wants to promote "girl power" and all, but how would people feel if it was Sawyer doing the beating on Ana? There would be such an outcry of misogyny!!

Sawyer takes the punishment because he feels he deserves it. He's become the very thing he hated, thus he's become sort of a masochist. That's why let himself be tortured in Confidence Man, and I think it's why the writers are heaping a lot of the show's physical punishment on him.

I agree Sluggo..but there's only so much he wants to take also...hence the hit me again and I'll kill ya...guess what even on a power trip she didn't test it either...Sawyer's shot, things will be different when he's healed...

Maybe that's it... maybe this is the last time he will put up with being a punching ball.. Maybe his self-torturing days are over?? I don't know... Just thought I'd throw it out..

I believe that was true in "Con Man" but I think he reached his limit there. After that and Kate's comment about him not giving people something to like about him, he changed and started to work with the group more. He's not in the self-torture thing now. He's injured but not able to keep silent and take orders from strangers with an agenda he doesn't know.

I think Sawyer (now he should be Gods friggin gift to humanity!) is just a plain ole southern gentlemen who refuses to hit a woman. However, I don't think he's gonna take it much longer and UberBitchLucia's days of using him for anything will be over.

I agree that he's no longer seeking punishment like he did in Confidence Man, but that doesn't necessarily mean the writers aren't going to stop heaping abuse on him as the island's self-flagellant. In its own way, the island has given many of the Lostaways things they were seeking in their lives before the crash, and Sawyer seemed to be seeking both punishment and redemption. While he may no longer be seeking punishment, that doesn't necessarily mean the island isn't still doling it out to him. ;)

I agree Sluggo, he's used to being abused, and I think he often invites it. Additionally, I think the writers like to portray him as a physical character, so I don't think they're going to stop any time soon. Just hope they move on to some other kind of physicality. The b*tch-slapping IS getting old.
