Hey Jorge!

I was just wondering how long you have been in the business and when you realized you wanted to be an actor? I don't know that much about you and I just love your portrayals (seen both Lost and Becker). ;)

Also, any advice for someone who wants to work in the business? ;)

Wow! Awesome!

Do you have pictures (headshots) yet? And a good class is always useful for two reasons: to hone you skills and give you a place to create and put up work which is necessary for morale when the jobs are slim.

Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

I've been in the business about six years (I mark it as the day I joined my acting class at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.)

Oh and write down what you want.

And be specific and bold. No embarrasment and no apology. This is step one.

If you send it to me I'll give you notes on it.

good luck

Jorge

Well, my biggest dream is to be a screenwriter (I've always been a writer, sometimes it feels like I've been writing since before I could walk!) ;D

However, I've acted quite a bit on stage (all high school and college productions) and I've been toying with taking some acting classes here at school (kind of a second to the screenwriting classes).

I absolutely love becoming someone else, there is really nothing more exhilarating. The thrill of walking out on a stage and just entertaining, it's like an addiction.

But I've never acted in front of a camera before and I guess that would be a good place to start with advice. What differences are there (other than the obvious toning down of gestures and vocal)?

And thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer my silly questions. ;)

Other than the technical aspects I believe there is no difference.

Did you always have the money to get things rolling? This is, I'm finding out, quite a large problem. You have to have money to pay for acting classes and headshots and I just don't have the money.

Also, I'm getting so psyched to see your backstory episode. I'm sure it's going to just rock. ;)

Here's my belief:

The moment you decide that this is the priority and that you will find a way to pay for it.

You find a way to pay for it. Don't let money get in your way. It's not a good excuse.

You can barter for them too, ask someone to take your pictures and in turn you'll clean his or her house or something.

Keep up the great work on the show, hun! I'm really digging it! ;)
