Great job, great show!

I think you should kill off Sawyer. Although I love the character, perhaps my wife and 16 year old daughter will be able to pick their collective jaws up off the floor during upcoming episodes, if Sawyer isn't around. I mean Kate is hot, but I don't go around salivating! :)

Seriously though, it must be tough for a writing team to even contemplate 'killing' off a regular character. You must get close to these characters emotionally. Two questions:

1. How hard is it, from a writers perspective, to do the deed and kill a character if the situation demands it?

2. What is it like to be in a room filled with Lost writers, brainstorming ideas? It must be loads of fun!

thanks for writing!! i'm going to have to side with your wife and daughter...i think sawyer's pretty hot too. :) i know that most the ladies out there would be very very mad at us if he died.

as for killing off a character, it's definitely a hard thing to do. we love all our characters/actors. as you've probably seen from the promos, someone will die when the show returns on the air in 2 weeks. i was here for the brainstorming of that episode and i can tell you a lot of thought was put into it. that's about all i can say so i don't spoil it for anybody...

as for being part of the team, it's incredibly fun. and very rewarding to know that we have so many hardcore fans that are devoting their wednesday nights to watching the show and even more time to discussing it afterwards. it makes the job even that much cooler for me :)
