Is that why the Tail-enders were all carrying hockey sticks? It reminds me of the episode of Saturday Night Live where Wayne Gretzky was hosting. They had a skit called "Waikiki Hockey" where Gretzky had to lead a group of Hawaiians in a hockey game against some people that were trying to buy the bar where they worked.
Is there going to be a big, winner-take-all hockey game to decide who is in control of the island?

Wasn't it a hockey team at the airport when Hurley was racing to catch the flight, and their jerseys had the "numbers" on them?

umm... i just feel like i oughta throw this out there, as a hockey player myself... i definitely see the resemblance to hockey sticks, but i'm pretty sure those are boomerangs (sp?) or something tied to wooden poles, not actual hockey sticks. i like the idea of a lost hockey team though... they could totally use those makeshift sticks and challenge some nhl team, a la the mystery alaska team (hehe... i like the mystery tie. makes me feel clever. =P )...
i do wish they were actual hockey sticks though... that would be flipping rad, in my own opinion. =D
EDIT: family of freaks posted while i was typing, but i absolutely couldn't agree more with... ehh... their (? heh) post... haha.

Just to clarify, I WAS joking about it being a hockey team. I just had to chuckle the first time I saw everyone with their walking staves that for a moment resembled hockey sticks.
