View Full Version : Deja Vu
LockeisFuture 11-10-2005, 02:19 AM Do you think that whenever the tailenders get to camp Jack will be faced with antoher choice with Shannon and Sawyer like his future wife and Shannon's father. Sort of like a spooky parallel between the two events. What do you think?
sadams 11-10-2005, 02:21 AM Hmm, good call.
Yeah, that's not a bad theory.
Superman 11-10-2005, 02:24 AM not bad... i don't know if it'll end up that way... who knows... it just seems like Sayid's reaction and Jin, Mike, and Ana's reaction seemed like Shann died on the spot...
Ooh, I don't know, but it would make for interesting viewing, that's for sure! You're right--both Shannon and Sawyer will be arriving at camp together.
If that's how it works, I think Jack'd have to save Sawyer over Shannon, just because his wound is easier to "fix."
And then Jack would be failing 3 in their family--Father, son, and now daughter. YIKES. Can anyone say
angst?

3 people and that's one of the tailaway numbers!
dzdconfsed 11-10-2005, 02:30 AM I hadn't thought of that one...great theory! It would certainly bring things full circle.
4EvrLOST 11-10-2005, 02:34 AM I'm pretty sure she died in Sayid's arms. Poor Sayid.
OK...guess I shouldn't have said, father "son" and daughter, as Boone was "only" a step-son, but what I meant was Jack can feel responsible/remorseful over the deaths in Shannon's family.
Nay815 11-10-2005, 02:43 AM Well Jack needs to save them both. So far his batting average has not been so great.
Understandable with the conditions but nonetheless, he needs two saves.
piscescat 11-10-2005, 07:09 AM Jack isn't aware of Mr Rutherford being Shannon's dad, but he can certainly feel bad if Shannon dies under his watch.
nonyabizwaz 11-10-2005, 07:48 AM Jack isn't aware of Mr Rutherford being Shannon's dad, but he can certainly feel bad if Shannon dies under his watch.
Can someone remind me the storyline around Mr. Rutherford and Jack?
Wednesday 11-10-2005, 02:31 PM First post, so be gentle...
There was yet another time when Jack had to choose between saving one life over another, and that time, he chose Boone.
lockeisthekey 11-10-2005, 02:38 PM IF Shannon dies... I wish she'd at least get some final words with Sayid. :(
WEDNESDAY-
I don't remember Jack choosing to save Boone over someone else's life.
Aaron was being born, but plenty of women give birth without dying, and
Claire wasn't in any danger compared to Boone.
If that's to what you were referring. also, WELCOME!
Wednesday 11-10-2005, 02:47 PM Actually, I was referring to the drowning incident.
RamessesIX 11-10-2005, 02:47 PM I want to try to kill this perception that Jack chose to save Sarah over Mr. Rutherford, because I really don't think that's what happened. The determination was made (not necessarily by Jack), that Sarah had more of a chance if someone got to her right away. It looked to me like Mr. Rutherford died right away upon entering the ER. Had it been possible to save him, I'm sure that a major metropolitan hospital would have had more than one surgeon available to deal with incoming accidents. Multiple injuries must happen all the time.
Unless this all happened during an earthquake or something....but it looked like a normal day to me.
God's tom 11-10-2005, 02:47 PM I think Sawyer's too far gone at this point for Jack to save him with the lousy antibiotics he has - I mean, how much could they have had on the plane?
I think the only thing that can save Sawyer is Desmond's super syrum.
As for Shannon - I think she died in Sayid's arms!
rvarzea 11-10-2005, 02:49 PM What an absolutely FANTASTIC idea. The only downside in the whole thing is that I'm sure Jack barely even remembers the information regarding Shannon's dad. If that was something that he easily remembered and was AWARE that he was unable to save any of the three... that would be interesting to watch unfold.
jessieslost 11-10-2005, 03:07 PM It could be very interesting to watch everyone walk into camp with two nearly dead people, and watch Jack try to save them. Shannon's wound appears to be in a fatal position, compared to Sawyer's, but his has been festering for a while.
I still think Shannon will die/is dead, but Jack will perform some good doctoring to get Sawyer up and running.
lockeisthekey 11-10-2005, 05:20 PM Actually, I was referring to the drowning incident.
ah, I had forgotten that!
I don't think Jack consciously made a decision though. he got out there,
saw Boone, and couldn't see Joanne anymore.
so, he took Boone to shore. sadly, it was too late for Joanne...
and I'm sure Jack blames himself.
