I posted this in the Abandoned thread as well....but I wasn't sure if it could also lead to some spoilers...so I will post this here too. This also happens to be my first post!

So...in Abandoned we were giving more hints as to when Shannon's flashback occurred relative to the plane crash. We find out the Shannon is 18 years old in the flashback. For all you Dave Matthews Band fans out there.....me being a huge fan.....did you notice their song Stay playing in the background in Shannon's apartment??? For those of you who aren't big DMB fans, Stay was on the album Before These Crowded Streets, which was released in late 1998 or early 1999 (you could have gotten it off Napster in late 1998!!)

I'm not sure what the episode was, but I thought Shannon told Hurley she was 21 years old. If she was telling him the truth, then the plane crash occurred in late 2001 or early 2002.

Any thoughts on this?

You only listen to music that just came out? The crash happened in 2004 on the air date of 1.1 i think, everything still fits in the timeline.

The plane crash didn't really happen. It's a TV show.

Speculation at best guys. The timeline could still be whatever for the crash. Because I listen to music from the 60's, doesn't make it the 60's.

TPTB have said before that the crashed occurred on the DAY that Lost first aired...they never said anything about the year.

I did make an assumption of the year based on the DMB music and Marky Mark posters in her room.....but you have a point, we could also assume that the poster is a couple of years old and she was listening to an old CD.

But it's still fun to speculate that the crash didn't happen in 2004.
