The show made us believe that Shannon is the one to die. But it seemed to obvious. What if Shannon survives and Sawyer is the one who actually dies?

I can't even entertain that thought. :(

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! People, what makes us all so sure Shannon is actually dead? This is LOST!! I personally do not think she is dead (I happen to love her character so maybe this is more by way of hope). Nor do I think that Sawyer is dead. It could be just about anyone or thing.

I think Shannon is dead - question is who's killed her?!

I did not read any spoilers so I did not know who was going to die. But when Shannon was shot it was just to predictable. It wasn't a surprise. Thats what makes me think they are trying to make us think that Shannon is dead when it is actuallly someone else that we will find out in a later episode. That would be the kind of writing we are use too and love. Although i too hope Sawyer is alive.

The writers have already faked Shannon's death once - in Hearts and Minds when it was a figment of Boone's drugged imagination.

If they fake her death a second time, as far as I'm concerned, all credibility will be gone. It's one thing to be mysterious, it's another thing to totally disregard the intelligence of your audience.

The previews just said that one of the survivors would be "lost" forever. Seems to me that Cindy bit the dust so maybe both Shannon and Sawyer survive.

Shannon's gone, but if they were to make Sawyer die, that would be it for me. As it is when they killed off Boone, I was debating on continuing to watch the show. My friend has already stopped watching. Sawyer dying would make me stop watching too.

No I don't think so folks, I'm pretty sure it's going to be Shannon. I think it'll take a few episodes to get her out completely but I really believe she's gone.

Yes, in trueLOST fashion, things aren't completely what they seem but I am of the opinion that what possible benefit would the show have to lose our beloved Sawyer. As Josh said, "he's either the guy you love to hate or the guy you just frickin' hate." There would be no rise in ratings, the rating actually would plummet if they lost him, Damon has already said in interviews last summer that they want to do more about The Tampa Job and Kate has pratically admitted that she's in love with him. I mean just the sexual tension between the two of them is enough to fill up at least 2 seasons. There is so much that could be done there.

The bottom line if they lose Josh the show's just not going to be the same. Besides, they really wanted us to think it was going to be Josh but that would have just been too easy.


But I do have to say, Josh does emotion really well....I almost cried when I replayed what he said to Michael. It was said so softly that I almost couldn't understand it.

I was shocked that it might be Shannon. I thought Sawyer was far more likely. I was tearing up when she thought that Sayid would Abandon her. Any chance that both or neither are dead?

I don't think that even Jack can bring someone back from a gunshot wound to the stomach, with what he has to work with on the island. Sure looks like Shannon's a goner, especially since the actress seems to be starting a movie career.

Sawyer's a big fan favorite. Unless the actor decides to leave the show, my guess is he's going nowhere.

OHHHH thats brings up another interesting point. Jack had to decide between Shannon's father and his wife. What if he has to choose between Shannon and Sawyer in the next few episodes.

I got the impression that Shannon died in Sayid's arms. Sometimes the easiest explanation is the right one. Shannon is dead, Cindy was taken, and Sawyer is going to be in bad shape for a while.

Sawyer gone?? Nooooo.... I don't want Shannon dead, but I'd choose her over Sawyer if someone has to go! Sawyer makes the show so much better. It would be stupid to kill him off.

Agreed, there would be way too much internal damage to fix in that environment. She is a gonner. I actually liked how they did her death sequence. About the time that the whispers started and she went after Walt, I figured that she was gone. I also like how it creates a large amount of tension between the two groups. I think that a large number of the original Lostaways will have severe trust issues with the tailies.

We did get a glimpse into why AnnaLucia is so jumpy and distrusting this week. Next week I am sure that we will get a much more full understanding of this. Looking at it from her persepctive, you can totally see why she would be quick to pull the trigger in that scenario.

Now we can have some great reunions and new meetings. Rose and Bernard will get back together. Kate will get to see Sawyer again, and Jack will get to treat Sawyer's wounds yet again. Jin and Sun back together, and he gets a translator now. Jack and AnnaLucia. And of course Locke and Mr Eko get to meet. How will the two trackers hit it off?

Looking forward to the next couple of weeks.

here's my point of view though...
sawyer wont die.... they arent that far from the rest of the survivors and will likely reach them within a day. Sawyer's wound may be infected but i'm sure he can make it to the camp. He's already on the strecher so he's not over-working himself.

Shannon on the other hand will also have to wait about a day to get back to the camp, and into Jack's hands. She was shot in the stomache. And incase you weren't aware of this.... that's a little bit more serious than Sawyer's arm wound.

Sawyer will live. Shannon might live too... but it's less likely. Jack doesnt have the proper equipment to cut her open and search though her internal organs and find the bullet....... but then again.. he DID perform a blood transfusion on Boone... so it seems as though Jack and do anything on that island... so yes, it's likely that might both survive.
