Her charater is mouthy, bossy, hot headed and looking like a self made leader.
She already proved that she hits first and asks questions second.
I can totally see her pulling the triger with out being a 100% sure who she is shooting at.

***No need to throw stones:drowsy: ***.........lol

Concidering the spoiler I heard about her former occupation I think it makes perfect sense.

Possible contains a spoiler regarding Ana and her role in life...

I'm not in line with the idea of "pulling the triger without being a 100% sure who she is shooting at"... unless she is an L.A. cop. :)

But most police officers are well trained enough to not shoot someone without being sure of the target. Knocking someone on their *** is a totally different thing from taking their life.

Sadly more then one police officer has shot the wrong person, in real life.

But the fun part about this is time will tell:smile:

I agree - we did not see her shoot shannon we saw her gun in the air ---- with this show it would not surprise me if they want us to believe that it was her but it was really someone else.

But conditions on the island are not exactly like they are anywhere else, and training doesn't prepare you for having 12 people snatched out from under your nose.

I soo agree with you, we know things are not always as they seem on the island, it will be interesting indeed to see how this plays out.

My bigger issue you here though is that from the very LIMITED stuff we've seen of "The Others" they look very drab... mostly wearing beige and brown at least as far as pants and shorts are concerned. Shannon was wearing a relatively BRIGHT pink/red, wasn't she?? Doesn't that make her significantly more visible? Further more, the girl clomps around like a Clydesdale!! She doesn't exactly just "come out of nowhere" like the others do (Cindy disappears in to thin air without even a SOUND)... so it seems odd that Ana would just shoot in that circumstance. It seems to be very different from the other experiences they've mentioned having with "The Others".

But Micheal, Swayer and Jin were all in bright colors and trumping around. She had no problem thinking they may be the others when she first saw them and had them tossed in to that hole. Infact we know the others are in drab colors, but I'm not sure any of the surivers have seen them at all. Except for maybe their feet. While hiding from them in the jungle.

I strongly heard a rifle shot, not a pistol shot. So I bet Ana didn't shoot Shannon. Who has a rifle...crazy French lady...?

It's just very odd that she goes screaming in to the jungle and ends up with a bullet in her chest. Cindy did disappear w/o a sound. The whole death was done in a poor and forseeable fashion. Did anyone esle notice that just prior to the death scene, both parties were walking through a tall grassy field. It seemed apparent to me that they would collide.

I sitll just find it hard to believe, even more so that she knew that the gun really wouldn't help them anyway (She said to Michael/Sawyer: "You think that one gun with one bullet is going to save us?" ... "They take what they want." ... something along those lines).

Training is training so that it becomes instinct... regardless of the situation, I don't think she'd just shoot without first figuring out what her target was. It seems more sensible to me that someone else killed Shannon, and that Ana was shooting at the killer.

Just my thoughts, and I certainly do appreciate any theories that you all have as well! :) We'll see who is closer to the mark in a couple of weeks, eh?

That was definately a rifle shot. It did not come from a handgun.
