View Full Version : Updated Timeline for Middle Section Survivors
Stabbey_the_Clown 11-16-2005, 11:47 PM My timeline is vindicated! I spent hours watching the first season again to get the day-night cycle right, and my only apparrent error was assuming that when Locke said "We've been here for 44 days" that he was including the day he said it on as Day 44. It must have been on
Day 45, which makes sense if he meant 44 full days.
EDIT: Tail section events have been added.

Stabbey_the_Clown 11-17-2005, 09:38 AM I've updated the timeline to include the tail-section events.
Watership Down 11-17-2005, 11:50 AM That is brilliant! I was hoping someone was keeping track of the Lost timeline, but I didn't expect anything this.
Amazing work. I've got you bookmarked, too. Thank you Stabbey!
Alkcalien 11-17-2005, 11:55 AM But why is the Diary writer on the ABC site stating on Day 36 that Boone has been brought in in bad shape, and Claire is having her baby?
That's a 5 day difference between what we learned last year, and what was indicated last night
silveranswer 11-17-2005, 12:01 PM Very interesting that Ethan and Goodwin were both killed on the same day!
Watership Down 11-17-2005, 12:33 PM This thread should have a sticky.

The diary is an unreliable source, as this episode has proven.
For further examples, the diary has Jack and Charlie escaping from the cave in the day before Sawyer gets stabbed. "The Moth" ends in a night scene, and there is a second night scene partway through "Confidence Man", and on the next day Sawyer gets stabbed, so the diary is missing a day.
I got my timeline based on watching the day-night cycle of Season 1 and using the clues from the dialogue itself. Yes, I watched the entire first season again just for the timeline.
I was perfectly prepared to revise my timeline if this episode threw doubt on it, but the only change I had to make was having Locke say "We've been here 44 days" before dawn on Day 45.
GemRep - Go ahead, feel free to link away.

Which has been updated based on information from 2x7.
Stabbey_the_Clown 11-18-2005, 01:50 PM And a very nice timeline it is, sledge.
You might want to think about changing
6-7H BPC
2004 Oceanic flight 815 takes off from Sydney flying to Los Angeles [1x1]
to 6-8 hours BPC, because Cindy said that they were flying for 2 hours in the wrong direction, which when added to the Pilot's "6 hours into the flight the radio went dead" comments gives about 8 hours between takeoff and crash.
flora 11-18-2005, 06:43 PM The DW was keeping to the "official schedule" that Lost's first season would be 40 days, which was the second timeframe TPTB said the first season would compose. Originally, last summer/fall I read that if Lost got a full season that it would be 44 days. After the season was well underway I tried to find the source that I read that said "44 days" (22 episodes, approx. 2 days per show-= 44 days) and I coundn't find it and got reemed here on the 'lage by other people who only read the articles that alluded to the Biblical 40 days. I felt vindicated with Locke said to Desmond that they had been there 44 days. (And yeah, it was night, so, I think he was referring to the day when the raft was lanched, Aaron was kidnapped, and the Away Mission to the Black Rock for the dynamite. He hadn't gone to sleep yet so, yeah...for Locke it was still day 44 though it was well in the middle of the night and probably a lot closer to daybreak than sunset, so technically it was day 45 but it was still the middle of the night. So, yeah, 44 days.) I don't put much stock in the Diary Writer as her entries didn't always match up with the timeline on the island anyway. Hecka people got their panties in a wad last year when at the end of the season DW had gotten to day 42 or something like that- and that didn't fit in with their ideal of 40 days. Aw well.
