For J.J. Abrams:

With a little research I was able to determine that Joseph Campbell taught at Sarah Lawrence College for 38 years. You were a student at Sarah Lawrence College.

Joseph Campbell's wife was a dancer with the Martha Graham Dancers. You wrote (or had written) a role in "Lost" for Shannon as wanting to be a Martha Graham Dancer. Martha Graham herself held great interest in religion/mythology.

What was your relationship with Joseph Campbell? How much did his philosophy of religion and mythology affect the storyline of "Lost"? I'm particularly interested in the influence his book had: The Hero With a Thousand Faces. I have read that this book, in particular among all of his books, was the inspiration for the "Star Wars" series. Are you and your team now writing a "New Mythology" for a "New Age" with all the expected Jungian archetypes? Am I on the right track here?
