Ana Lucia or Kate?

For me, if everything that we know up to now remains constant, Kate.

While I believe Ana-Lucia's backstory for why she is so screwed up to be basically 'complete" I think there will, and has to, be a bit more about Kate's. Otherwsie she is a murderous soul becasue the reasons revealed tonight do not justify murder (not saying anything does but if there are reasons for murder the ones we saw tonight certainly do qualify by themselves.)

I believe there to be a bit morew to her story though as alluded to by the conversation at the recruiting office with her "Dad."

Somehow I am thinking there's a sibling involved.......

I have never hated Kate. I don't feel she adds much to the story, other than the love triangle thing with Jack and Sawyer. Tonight's show sort of proved my point about her only purpose being the apex of the love triangle.

I have never hated AL either. I think she is a tough gal who has a soft underbelly that we just haven't seen yet.

I don't hate either. AL tonight was fine. She stood away from Shannon's funeral which was appropriate. She had a conversation with Eko & Jack.

Kate - wow - I didn't see that coming. So she has murder in her heart....remember the man she thought was her father said he didn't have it in his heart but she did.

I've never hated Kate. And I like her more (or at least feel more sympathy for her) after tonight's episode. I wasn't too fond of Ana Lucia, but I didn't dislike her, until her episode. So I'm going with Ana Lucia.

The castaways must hate Ana-Lucia. She killed one of their own. They may know that Kate is a fugitive, but they have no clue what she did. I don't imagine it is even a contest...

I never understood the hate for Kate.

I don't hate Kate - she's too boring to hate, even after tonight's episode.

My vote still goes to Ana.

For me it's not a matter of hating either of them personally but they are both cold blooded murderers. I know that we've been fed a reason for each to make the murders seem "more justified" but both had MANY options other than premeditated murder. Since the people on the island presumably all have a fresh start with each other, both women have had their ups and downs morally and have displayed their ability to do heroic things and to make further mistakes. They're both good characters (seriously flawed) who have to live with the fact that they premeditatedly killed people and were then responsible for the accidental deaths of others. I guess their stories are really on parallel tracks if you look at it that way.

In public opinion, I imagine that Ana remains the most hated at this point... though I don't know of any legit reason why anyone would hate Kate...?

I personally like them both very much. I liked the short moment at the end of the show last night w/ Jack and Ana... For some reason, Ana seems to soften up ALOT when she is around Jack, which I think will help her gain a little bit more favor with viewers. Just my $0.02.

Kate - Killed her father because he was a bad role-model, got her boyfriend killed and led a bank robbery.

Ana Lucia - Killed the man who shot her while pregnant, shot Shannon by mistake and wrongfully accused Nathan.


I'd go with Kate being the *worse* individual.

I really don't care what either of them did prior to their time on the island. Since being on the island, Kate has been helpful, friendly, and made herself useful. Ana, on the other hand, has been brutal, abrassive, thuggish, obnoxious, and has murdered an innocent person.

I can forgive Kate for killing her creepy dad, but I can't forgive her for being so mind-numbingly dull. PLEASE, no more Kate flashbacks.

Ana is a bad girl, but she has tons of charisma and is fun to watch.

Kate has been selfish herself. Remeber the suitcase in the beginning, and she couldn't be happier since the FBI guy died. Good for her that she can live on the island the way she does.

Ana-Lucia is a tragic hero with a very sad past. Ever talked to a woman who has had an abortion? I'm not even talking about an accident like hers. She's been let down by many and taken the responsiblity for the kids, for the group after having stranded on the island. She is one of a handful survivors of a group that has been kidnapped by a group of strangers in a territory that she doesn't even know and out of nowhere comes somebody who look threatening. She killed a person and it turns out that it was Shannon, a terrible accident. Alright, Sayyid has forgiven her, why don't you guys?

This AL bashing is so superficial that it's rather amusing to watch.
Talking about "Hate" is so much over the top anyway. Do you know what hate really is? You are using such a strong word for a farking TV show. Ain't that ridiculous?

However, the guy I haven't liked so much is Michael. He acted so thoughtlessly and was from 0 to 100 in a second over nothing. Just remember the first season. He was made of the material you need for endless soap operas where a little conversation would settle everything, instead everybody refuses to give in a bit and helps things to escalate.
The writers have done good to keep him calm a bit. I hope it takes some time until his next flip. Although the cliffhanger of 2x09 implies something else.

I still hate Ana more than Kate. Actually, I've never hated Kate. She's a Janis Joplin fan, so she's alright with me.

Sayid forgave her because the writers chose to have him do so. I don't answer to the writers. They wrote an unlike-able character and are trying to dig themselves out of that whole by making Sayid forgive her. It doesn't work that way for me. Ana's behavior on the island has been attrocious. She has been a childish, tyrannical "vincent". Kate has had her selfish moments, and I'm no fan of Kate, either. But I don't dislike her to the degree that I dislike Ana. Ana has not contributed anything worthwhile. She has tortured, beaten, harrassed, starved, imprisoned, and killed innocent people, and been an unnecessarily irrational fear-monger.

Or, to put it more simply: Ana-Lucia's personality sucks. BIG time. Kate's sucks less.
