What do you think?
I speculate that the others where the ones who cut the film in order to get someone to use the computer for another purpose which would lead to another incident. The first incident might have something to do with the sickness. The others might want that to happen again. I think the hatch is being monitored possibly by the others which might explain why just right after they finished watching that footage, michael received a message on the computer. I think the others might be using walt to trick Michael into using the computer in order to create another incident. That's my theory.

The question is, who cut the film and why? The film that was found and added to the one Locke has is not from the same film. I think the part taken from Locke's film is still missing. What if the others don't want them to contact any of the other groups on the island. Think about some of the whispers we've heard. Some of them seem like they are watching the survivors and want to ask for help but they don't trust the survivors. I'm thinking about the whispers we heard when Sawyer was hunting that boar.
I don't know, it's so confusing but I don't think we can always trust our initial conclusions because as we all get more information everything seems to change. After seeing the film I thought okay, they can't mess with the computer or another incident may happen. Well, maybe that's not true because the two pieces of film don't really belong together.
Check out the threads from Dr. Candle's Hair. These threads have some great side by side comparison caps of the two pieces of film. After looking at these, I think you can clearly see the two don't really belong together.

Actually, the missing film clip really doesn't provide anything new of substance. What I mean is: we already knew that you shouldn't use the computer for anything other than inputting the code. The only thing we did learn is that using the computer for other than inputting the code caused the incident.
So the question is why would anyone want to cut that portion of the film out? To cause another incident does seem like a good answer. However, I guess it reamins to be seen if anyone actually tried to use the computer for other than inputting the code (IE did Desmond or Kelvin attempt to contact someone?)
To me the splice only brought up 108 more questions.
I personally think the portion of the film that was cut out was a bit disappointing. It still didn't explain the whole button pushing thing. I'm in the same boat as Michael, even after watching the missing piece, all I heard was push a button every two hours, something about electromagnetic fields, and an incident.

I can't wait to find out what 'incident' occurred!
I'm trying to figure out how it all ties in with the sickness, etc...
The only thing I can think of is that one side of the island was quarantined with some test illness and they got together and wiped out just about everyone.
Another question is... was Danielle's accident supposed to happen? Was the plane crash supposed to happen?
I read somewhere that we will find out why the plane crashed this season!
