Hey, great show, keep up the good work, etc. etc.

I keep seeing posts declaring that Jack did a mercy killing on the marshal. I didn't get the impression that Jack "finished the job" Sawyer started. It seemed to me that the marshal died of his own wounds before Jack even had a chance to do anything.

Can you clear this up for me/us?

Jack DID indeed smother the life out of the Marshal after Sawyer botched it.
