Apologies up front if this has been asked, but I'd like you to try and clear some of this Season congestion up. How long will the show run? I have heard 4 seasons and hope this to be the case; I don't want the writers to have to pull a Chris Carter and run out of options because of threats that ABC will continue the show because of high ratings.

Is there a plan, a certain number of episodes with a solid, set ending put in stone? Do the writers know exactly what to expect and do when the time comes to end the show at any point, unexpectantly or expectantly?

Thanks also for the answer, and I hope you don't mind me asking one more question. But how far along do the writer's usually allow for story plotting/outlines, i.e. episode by episode basis, etc.?
