Eddy,

In a previous post Javi had mentioned more episodes similar to Fire + Ice to come. i am extremely excited about this. I want to thank you and Adam for a great episode. i thought that Fire + Ice was possibly Lost's greatest episode to date. the writing was superb, and I don't know if I've seen better acting. While i enjoy the mysteries of the island, I think that the show does not revolve around that 'plot.' The way i see it, the show would still make for a 'great' show if mysteries did not excist. I believe that you spent the previous year and a half developing characters along side the various mysteries of the island, and I think Fire + Ice was that explosion we've all been waiting for. You set each character up to be so human, and I love it. Jack is not without his flaws, and *gasp* neither is Locke. Many people were disappointed with Locke's monstrosity of punching Charlie, but I think that only makes him that more real (of course if I only knew what Locke knew, I think i would punch Charlie myself). To me it seems as though Locke has come to this island with the idea that it has saved him. While I may be off in my theory, it seems to me that the character Locke is slowly starting to realize that maybe his ideas of 'fate' and 'everything happens for a reason' aren't as accurate as he once thought. with this, we see a more frustrated locke. anyway, i may be wrong, but that's just my idea. with Mr. Eko and Locke we see two very different people. i think mr. eko and locke have similar philosophies, but whereas Eko is grounded in reality, Locke is always seeking for so much more. I think as season 2 passes we will see the two learn a lot from each other. anyway, i hope you get this, and hopefully it wasn't a bunch of garbage. Keep up the good work! Here's to many years of Lost to come!
