Hi, Dom. I had the very great pleasure of meeting you at the One Ring Celebration last weekend, and I had a few comments, and a question for you about it. If I'd had the presence of mind while in line for autographs, I would have asked Billy or Elijah to tell you this, but I didn't think of it until later, so I thought I'd leave it here.
First, thank you for coming and meeting all of us crazy fans of LotR and Lost, and for being so gracious with your time, and forthcoming with your answers to our questions. I was the one who asked you about how much input you have with the writers in terms of the dialog that is written for Charlie. I was thrilled with your answer, and honestly, with the quality and thoughfulness of all the answers you gave.
More importantly though, I wanted to tell you how sorry I am about how the whole photo op and autograph thing went. I can't presume to know how you were feeling, but it seemed to me (and all the other fans that I spoke to) that you were pretty unhappy with how rushed things were, and how little you were able to interact with us. There were a lot of complaints made to Creation about how things were run on Friday, and I can tell you for sure that Billy, Elijah, and Sean had a much different experience on Saturday than you did. If the experience *did* affect you negatively, I'm sorry for that, because even that tiny bit of contact with you was one of the highlights of the weekend for me and my friends. My only regret is that I allowed myself to be intimidated by the Creation goons in the photo op room, and didn't take the time to give you a hug and tell you what a genuine pleasure it was to meet you. Thank you so much for being there with us, and giving so much of your time to us, during what was obviously an insanely busy weekend for you.
So my question would be, will you consider doing other fan conventions in the future, either for LotR or Lost, or has the experience at ORC completely put you off?
With love and admiration,
Zoni
