Hello Gregg,
It sounds like both a fascinating and boring job. Fascinating to us die hard fans, probably boring to fact find. I WOULD LOVE IT. I have began a character bible of sorts just to help me keep up with things, but I guess basicly you are an editor plus, huh. Cool. Who in your opionion is the best writer? As in grammericly? hehehehe (not saying I'm good at it, just a question lol) Is there somewhere I can find who wrote which episodes? I would like to get to know their individual styles.

I'm not sure how to phrase this question, but is there particular writers in charge of certain characters? Like if there is a Locke episode, does one writer write each of them? Or do they all share in all episodes?

Who does the casting?

Thanks for answering our questions. You seem to be the most active VIP on the board! That means a lot to us fans!

Thanks,
Rhia9

In general, all the writers should have a good grasp of each character's voice and attitude because when they write a script all the characters are usually in it. In your example, a couple of different writers have written Locke episodes. So no, there isn't one writer assigned a certain character to write.

Our casting is done by April Webster, CSA, MAndy Sherman, CSA, and Veronica Collins.

As far as looking up who wrote what episodes, I double checked the main ABC website and found to my surprise that the episode recaps didn't have the writer(s) or director credited. I've put in a request that we start listing those credits, so we'll see if it happens. In the meantime, look at tv.com or imdb.com (although they haven't updated their episode credits for a while).

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your (fast) reply and answers. Also thanks for looking up about the writers credits. I was interested in getting a "feel" for each writers voice. I usually don't get this interested in the details of TV, but must say Lost is different. It is very literary. Has all the symbolism, morale ect., that makes literature---literature.

I asked about the casting (no, I don't hold any dreams of stardom) because I thought I would put a bug in their ears. I think Lucy Lawless would make an AWSOME actress for a character on the show. She has the great accent and last I saw, still had the "survivorish" physique. She may have given up acting all together for all I know. It was just a thought.

As a script coordinator, what is your least liked part? Do you also look up things such as copyrights or is that someone else?

this is an edit:

Just read "lostlaura"s post. Thanks for the info about the epi guides. (I couldn't post in her thread)...The Apollo bar is used in the "real world" on Lost...meaning off the island. The one Boone had was on the airplane. But I take it that it MAY lead to Oceanic and Apollo Mfg. and Hanso Foundation and Widmore all being connected. (not unlike ABC, Disney, and Carnival??? ) P.S. Have you ever heard of a radio show called "Ruby, the Galactic Gumshoe"? In one episode Ruby tells someone (Dr. Turue?) about how Disney bought the whole earth because the theme park grew so big...now New Earth is a man made planet. I thought this was hillarious! (YES it IS a kids show. And YES I am 34)
