RodimusBen

Yep. Totally sweet for Fenry to be the narrator. And somehow appropriate.

MinnieVanMommie
09-27-2006, 09:11 PM
do you think it is fenry???? my daughter thinks so...

Jealous_Guy
09-27-2006, 09:11 PM
Yeah, it definitely sounds like Michael Emerson doing the narrating. Which I think is great :D I like how they're keeping the time line straight, even though it basically meant starting with the Season 2 finale and then going back to the beginning, then jumping up to "The Other 48 Days", etc. Pretty soon, it's hello Ethan.

I guess Wisconsin falls under the East Coast, right? :D

First of all, it's good to be back watching Lost again. I've missed you all and the show during the off season. Once again, the show that can make me laugh and cry within 10 minutes is on.

Yeah, that's Fenry.

Ladybug_ocean
09-27-2006, 09:11 PM
Definitely Fenry.

I love Michael Emerson's voice. This is my favorite recap ep so far. A lot of Desmond so far.

MinnieVanMommie
09-27-2006, 09:12 PM
yup...fenry
100%
did we ever figure out why they "let" walt and michael go when they wanted them so much?? wonder what they found out about him (walt) that allowed them to make the deal with michael....sorry about the 2 post thing...getting ahead of myself here...does that automerge get me in trouble>>>???

Joshypoo
09-27-2006, 09:16 PM
I'm thrilled that Fenry is narrating (no offense to Peter Coyote). I love his voice - it almost sounds like a combination of Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs and Kevin Spacey.

Getting a little teary eyed over here. Damn I miss this show. I hope I can survive another week.

Oggie
09-27-2006, 09:17 PM
The thing that just occured to me. Maybe I'm just rediscovering this, but they knew Walt was on that raft, and that raft was in the ocean somewhere. They were looking for him.....There's still a Others spy in the camp, or there was at that time.

SAVE_WALT
09-27-2006, 09:18 PM
love the narration... he reflected sympathy when speaking of locke's faith issues, and definite sarcasm when speaking of michael and walt. nice to have a slightly biased narrator this time.

Jealous_Guy
09-27-2006, 09:18 PM
As the Others kidnapped the tailie kids, I'm pretty sure I heard Fenry say, "They were desperate to hang on to their way of life."

RodimusBen
09-27-2006, 09:19 PM
Minnie, we can assume two things about that-- first that, as Klugh said, Walt was "more than they bargained for," and second, that it was worth the trade to get back Fenry. Although there might be some disagreement about that, since Fenry himself said he wasn't happy about the deal, but that he would keep his word.

"we're gonna need to watch that again"..... doesn't that just sum up the whole series ??

RodimusBen
09-27-2006, 09:22 PM
Oh man, showing the shower scene is a waste of thirty seconds, unless there is some connection to the larger mythology that I'm missing. Maybe it's to please the Jate people.

Is it me, or does the voice over guy sound like Henry Gale?

No kool-aid for me John-John

"we're gonna need to watch that again"..... doesn't that just sum up the whole series ??
Haha. So true.

MinnieVanMommie
09-27-2006, 09:27 PM
yup it is henry.....(page 1...lol)
also rod I think they showed that shower scene because they are going to dolve the love triangle this season....I am leaning toward Jack since most of the scenes tonight are about him.,

Oggie
09-27-2006, 09:27 PM
The voice over guy is Michael Emerson, who plays Henry Gale. Known to alot of people as Fenry on here.

I for one do hope that Kate ends up with Jack. Though I do think if things go that way both of them will have a very rocky relationship.

Haha, well it did please me!

I see what you're saying though. I think it's obviously supposed to show the growing bond between Jack and Kate, as well as the importance of that relationship. They showed the kiss and such too, and they wouldn't have spent so much time on Jack and Kate if their relationship wasn't important to some degree. They have also been emphasizing the Sun/Jin and Charlie/Claire relationships.

And I just want to say how much I love Fenry narrating. Too cool  I cannot wait to see that guy in action next season!

Jealous_Guy
09-27-2006, 09:28 PM
There is a lot of emphasis on the Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle. Probably because those who are just tuning in at the beginning of Season 3 will obviously need to know their J/K/S stuff. Boy, I hope my sister is watching..!

Oh yeah, "What is that like, Mister Ed?" Hooray for letting a Sawyerism slip by!

so much for my last post....lol...the sawyer love continues

RodimusBen
09-27-2006, 09:30 PM
Well, it's obvious that they are playing a lot of Jack/Kate/Sawyer footage to play up the fact that the love triangle will supposedly be resolved soon.

It's interesting that they chose to completely overlook Shannon in the recaps.

MinnieVanMommie
09-27-2006, 09:32 PM

I'm not that surprised. Have there been any rumors about Shannon (or Boone) being part of S3? I really don't know where else they could go with them.

RodimusBen
09-27-2006, 09:36 PM
Yeah minnie, I also found it interesting that they attributed it to Kelvin. I thought Radzinsky did most of it and Kelvin continued it. Maybe that's just splitting hairs.

I have found in the past nothing on these recaps is a splitting hair...they show you scenes because of something and chose their words to suit us and their plots....

I am a spolier addict!!!!! But lots of foilers out there this summer...i took a break cause I couldnt keep up...lol

Then I take it Rose and Bernard are done for a while. Of course what else can you really do with them anyway, aside from the possible return of cancer, which I don't buy for a sec.

QuinceTheCarpenter
09-27-2006, 09:42 PM
Fenry narrating Fenry, nice.

Oggie
09-27-2006, 09:42 PM
Well, now that we know that Fenry lied about never pressing the button. We have to wonder, why?

Or was there more then 1 factor that has something to do with the device firing off...

Interesting reminders from the Other's camp : they cannot go to rescue Fenry but Michael can ... and Walt being tested.

Oggie
09-27-2006, 09:46 PM
You know what I think, I think they didnt think that Michael would be able to bring Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Hurley. They never planned on giving Walt back. But a deal's a deal.

DARN THEM!!!!! LIBBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This angers me.

Jealous_Guy
09-27-2006, 09:52 PM
Wonder why all the emphasis on the walkie-talkie? Maybe just a way to get Sayid and Hurley in it somehow, or a way of getting Hurley's line about "from any time".

I was wondering if we were gonna see Libby get shot, since we (for the most part) hadn't seen her yet, it would be kinda silly for her first appearance to be getting shot, with that huge mouth she makes, which I regret to say actually makes me laugh sometimes

I got the impression also that Fenry didn't get captured on purpose.

SAVE_WALT
