First we saw the scene where Kate says she won't work until she gets to talk to Jack and they punish Sawyer. Very effective I thought.

Then Sun asks Sayid why he will capture two Others. Sayid replies that he needs one to make the other cooperate.

That is a great observation- it seems to be working in the case of Sawyer and Kate. I half-expected Sawyer to pull a Kaiser Soze and shoot Kate first, then shoot his captors. THAT would have been good tv...
