Mr. Paik puts his hand on Jin's shoulder and calls him "son". This is the same behavior that Christian uses on Jack during ATBCHDI and then Jack sees Christian do it the man in the hall (the woman's husband or father? can't remember). It's the classic "I'm making you think I care" pose.

To convince Jack to cooperate, Benry shows him a video of a past event. Sound familiar? Oh, yeah. Kelvin Inman did the same thing to Sayid, to convince him to torture his commanding officer during OOT.
