Anyone else notice the constant background sounds, especially in the scenes with Jack in the room?
The room Jack is in has so bathroom..so where does he go????
Why the diamond plating?
The monitors that Ben watches seem so "old fashion", why when other things are so up to date.

I did notice the background noise. It is like machinery or industrial noise. The diamond plate makes no sense. He has no where to "go" except the floor. I hope they hose it off every few hours.

I thought the same thing about the bathroom facilities...for him and for Kate and Sawyer. No privacy for them. I am still trying to figure out why there is an intercom system in teh take with Jack that was supposedly to hold sharks which means there had to be water in there at some time.

They may have decided to change the use of the space and then added the intercom system.

Because in order to be effecient for research, the water need only be deep enough for the sharks to breath and shallow enough for the scientists to wade. I'm guessing at or just above the level of the work bench.

My thoughts are that Hydra is located directly below the Ferry Dock. The only reason I have for this thinking is that the Others came our of nowhere when boarding the boat. It seemed like they came up from under the dock or else Sayid would have seen them. Possible?

I don't know why, but I get the queasy feeling that the 'bench', which is full of holes, is the fishy equivalent of an autopsy table. Wasn't there a small trench that ran the length of the room (and under the table).
I keep wondering why there would be a bench in an area that was supposed to be filled with water. It also might have been an observation area since the actual hatch where the water came in was on the other side of the glass, wasn't it? Although, that bench just doesn't look like it was meant for sitting.

Chains from the ceiling hold a shark in place while the water is above table level. The table holds it up. The trench lets the round underbelly rest without the animal rolling to one side or the other (i.e. it holds it in place). The holes let the water drain through as they reduce water level.

That's my thoughts.

Exactly what I thought.
