Yes, Sawyer does loves Kate. He said so. He said the words. He told Kate to close her eyes. He's given up on life but he loves Kate.

Yea, I think it's pretty clear. Sawyer has had so many opportunities to fight back at the others but every time he stops is because of a threat to Kate. She is the factor on the island that weakens him.. he definetly loves her ;)

I don't think it is much of a question as to if Sawyer loves Kate or not. His love is pretty clear... but as we learned in the flasback, Sawyer is capable of loving someone but also walking away from that very person. So maybe he loves Kate, fine, but it doesn't change who Sawyer is as a person. Just a thought.

Glad to see some movement on this thread!!! I have to say I was sooo hoping that she would return the comment back to him. I found it strange that she didn't....until she carried on with Jack on the walkie talkie..sigh....

Finally Sawyer has learned to love...not be selfish...I hope they don't kill him off now,,,since he is close to resolving his issues....

That is so what I am afraid of....Sawyer's gonna die.

There's always hope that he's deep into a con. Maybe he said I love you too because he knew he was returning an untrue statement. Just a slight maybe.

I'm not sure we know if Sawyer is capable of loving a person and then walking away. He appeared to love Cassidy in the flashback but don't forget that he told Kate when they were playing "I Never" that he had never been in love. I think that was all a part of his big con with Cassidy.

Also, if Sawyer was in the middle of a huge con with Kate he's willing to take it pretty far, it sure seemed like he was going to get shot by Pickett.. what a risk to take for a con :rolleyes:

And no worries guys, they would NEVER kill Sawyer! He has way to huge of a fan base and is such an amazing character. :biggrin: He'll be around for a while.
