Was that Alex on the intercom that told Jack to open the door?

If I were a betting man, I bet Jack will save BEN and get off the island

It sounded like it could be her. I wonder what her intentions were, did she want Jack to esacpe, or was it part of Ben's plans to convince Jack to do the surgery?

*shrug* It could have been her. It may have even been Juliet. I really didn't pay it much attention as I was too shocked that the door was open. 0_o

The reason it could be Juliet as it could be part of the whole "test" thing. Jack needed to see Sawyer and Kate so he would do the surgery. But the whole "test" theory seems to be going down the drain right now so...

It definitely sounded like Alex. It was a girl's voice, and probably a bit younger than Juliet's.

I thought it was Alex too, but the open door seemed to be set up by Ben. Wouoldn't he know what had happened with her if that was her voice on the comm? Julliette lied to him about her.

If it was Alex, what was she trying to do, help Jack or help Ben manipulate Jack into performing the surgery?

It might sound weird, but when I heard the voice over the intercom I thought it sounded very much like Colleen. I know she is dead, but remember we also heard Jack's dad's voice on the intercom too..... thoughts?

I thought it was Alex too, and am confused as to why she was nowhere to be found. Juliet told Ben that Alex was taken "home," presumably back to their suburban town. That comment was the next morning, right? Did someone find her messing around near Jack and remove her? How would she even have gotten hear Jack after the compound breach?

Good point Jenny, I'm not sure if the timeline matches, we might need to do a side by side comparison of the Alex's voice (and others) and the what was over the speaker.

I doubt that The Others would've not kept Alex under restraint once they tackled her. She WAS sent "home."

Wouldn't surprise me if that was Juliet's (altered) voice on the intercom. She and Ben were setting him up for seeing James & Kate on the TV screens.

My take? Juliet & Alex are working together.

Ben gave Juliet the order to get Jack to perform the surgery. She took it from there.
Alex shouting out "They're going to kill your boyfriend" set up Kate's fear. Juliet knew Kate needed the shock that Alex's warning would give. Juliet then stepped in and built on that.
Juliet left the doors open, then Alex spoke on the monitor.
Ben only played a passive role in the scheme. He might not even have known about it in advance; Juliet could easily have gotten him out of the monitor room, then sent him back in at the right moment.

The tip-off is Ben asking Juliet about Alex. He did that because he knew she had brought Alex in. Their conversation was rather casual about it.

Yeah, the idea that Alex is working with Juliet seems more than plausibe. Specuations that someone was filming Juliet's cue card scene last week also fit this explanation.

But I'm afraid that Alex is being conned by Juliet into helping her.

Didnt we hear Sawyer on th intercom a couple of weeks ago when the others were performing the fake pacemaker surgery? Maybe they took alex to that room. But then how would she know that the door was open? I dont know...

I think it was Alex too. I think Alex knew that Juliet and Pickett were plotting to kill Ben, and her "What did you do to him?" comment could possibly have been referring to Ben, not Karl. I think Juliet had every intention of letting Pickett kill Sawyer as well, and Alex knew that too.

It did sound just like Alaex but i'm sure it was supposed to.

Was that Alex on the intercom that told Jack to open the door?

If I were a betting man, I bet Jack will save BEN and get off the island

The only problem being that Jack demanded to "get off this island" which menas he will end up right back on the other island with the rest of the Losties.

When they first got the alert about an intruder didn't someone ask how "she" got over here or something like that, indicating that she is usually on the other island. I assumed they would return her to there.

Love this idea but there's lots of problems with it. Alex has a history with the Losties. Remember how she helped Claire to escape the Staff? And how she seemed with Kate back in S2? It just doesn't fit with her character unless Juliet is really forcing Alex to do this.

IMO, it is all part of Ben's big plan to get Jack to want to do the surgrey, and when I say all I mean all. I think Ben Juliet and Alex etc are all working together in it...Alex could have gotten Claire out of there cus as Mr. Friendly said it wasn't part of the plan. what I found the most unusual was that when we 1st saw Karl and he broke out and busted Sawyer out there was an alarm but when Kate did it there was no alarm. the 1st time Alex talked with Kate about her dress no alarm but tonight an alarm why? cus they are setting the alarms off when they need to. the 1st time Alex spoke with Kate was to set Kate up to think she was friendly, Karls escape and capture was to set Sawyer up, I believe it was Alex on the intercome yet another ploy, a voice he has never heard before too. but they whole idea was for him to see Kate and Sawyer together...

The voice sounds like Alex, but i dont see that as relevant to Jack. Jack has never seen/heard her before(Although he would have, had Alex not begged Pickett to drag Kate for her back to Locke&Jack&Sawyer. After Toms "This is our Island" speach in "Hunting Party").
Anyway, i think most of you are reading to much into this.
I belive Alex's boyfriend really is in trouble, perhaps for the exact reason to sucker Kate into protecting Sawyer.

Perhaps after Alex busted into the work area so beautifully, Ben told her the boyfriend is fine, and had her talk over the intercom later that day. She thus would be angry at Ben for using her & the boyfriend like that.

Thanks for your comment. You're right - I've thought more about it and now think that Juliet was using Alex. I've posted on it over in general theories.

I agree with LostMio and JohWell, but with a minor change!

IMHO, when Alex told Pickett that she wanted to see Benry, then Benry made a deal with Alex that she would either see/learn about Karl/Carl and his condition or where he was, if she would be willing to participate in his plan to get Jack to do the surgery.

I'm not so sure that Juliet and Alex are in on something together, as much as I'd like to believe it! I do think that Benry was somewhat of a surrogate father to Alex on the Island, yet she still recognizes that his allegiance is to the group, not her, hence the fact that she calls him Ben and whatnot.

Thoughts?

I got the impression that they purposesly let Jack out so he could see Kate and Sawyer together on the monitor. I think they were hoping that seeing that would get him pissed off enough to abandon his friends and help Ben. Obviously I was wrong, or I am right and their plan failed miserably.

I don't think it was Alex, wasn't the goal of getting Jack out of the room so he'd end up in that control room and catch a glimpse of Kate and Sawyer, as previously suggested by beema. Unless Alex is deep into the knowledge of what Ben is trying to get Jack to do, I don't see her helping set Jack up to see K/S.

What if Alex was the one who showed Walt how to use the computer to contact Michael? We assumed it was a trap, but maybe it was Walt, helped by Alex, and Tom and Pickett just happened to catch Michael en route.

It sure as hell sounded like Alex!!

But then again, it also sure as hell sounded like Jack's dad was on the intercom in Eppy 1. Hmmm...
