Did anyone else notice that Kevin looks a lot like Tom, Kate's childhood friend? Is this supposed to show us that she was attracted to him because he reminded her of Tom? It could be her way of feeling close to him. Or is this simply showing us that he is "her type." Or does it have no significance at all?

I thought that too. Do you think this was before or after Tom's death?

yeah, I little bit. The thing that caught me was his occupation. He was a cop. Tom was a Doctor. Both are occupations that are solid "what you would look for in a husband" kind of jobs.

Could also be that she was trying to get closer to "living right" by marrying someone in law enforcement.

Kate needs a man who accepts her for who she is, and who has a code of honor, but could never "settle down," just like Kate. . . .

back to topic.. i did not think he looked like either tom or ethan IMHO.

hahaha, i watch LOST with friends who haven't seen every episode, so when the door opened and showed Kevin for the first time i yelled "Mal!!" and all my friends were like "we know him?? who is it? what's his connection..." etc. soo funny. it still took them awhile that i meant i knew him from another show.

i didn't even realize Kevin and Tom looked alike... i'm kinda biased so i can't judge.

I thought he looked like Ethan. I was even expecting a thread to pop up with someone arguing that it IS Ethan! I thought I remembered Tom having red hair.

Glad I wasn't the only one who shouted "MAL!" when seeing him. I was very excited that he was on the show.

I'm not sure it really matters if he has a resemblence to Tom.. 'cause, let's face it. She loves (?) Sawyer and he looks nothing like either of them.

I put a question mark because she said she didn't know why she kissed him. ?!?! Kate seems to kiss everyone and not know why.

Yeah, I think he has a resemblance to Ethan as well. He looks like he could be related to either Tom or Ethan, but I doubt that he is.

I don't think he looked like Ethan at all!!! I don't find Ethan attractive at all. This guy is pretty good looking, I know the actor from One life to live,he was on a long time ago!! As for tom I don't think he looks like him either.
