This is one angry chap! Any thoughts on why he has such a vendetta against Sawyer?
What am I missing?
(if this topic has been brought up already, I apologize, just add my comment mods! THX!)

My thoughts exactly. It seems so personal. But I guess it's just because of Colleen dying.

Yes, I really feel like I'm missing something here. Sawyer did give him one or a few snide remarks, but he does that to everyone. Sun is the one who shot Colleen.. Sawyer had nothing to do with it directly.

Do you think that Pickett just thinks the same way as Sawyer? When Colleen was brought into the Hydra, Sawyer was saying ' That's us, our team, we did that.' Like any Other dying is a good thing. Well Pickett may think getting rid of any Lostie is a good thing. That's all I can come up with.

thank you! sawyer had nothing to do with her death...if anything he [pickett] should be looking for Sun. would have been nice if that was resolved tonight, but nope...gotta wait til feb to figure that mystery out...oh wait its not a mystery, its called crappy writing.

Pickett was full of Sawyer hate before Colleen died.

I think Danny simply is looking for someone to take his anger about Colleen's death out on. Sawyer is who he immediately gravitates to because Sawyer has repeatedly gotten into it with him and aggravates him.

Exactly. And James is a lostaway, like Sun. A lostaway that THEY have in captivity. So he can get his revenge vicariously thru killing James.

I have to admit--I'm REALLY surprised that Pickett lived thru this eppy. I wonder if he will live thru the next eppy--or, thru the season.

He sure was steamed that the "2 week" plan was scrapped, though, wasn't he?

Thank you! I was going to post this EXACT same thing. I don't get it either. Ok, so he's upset about Colleen and Sawyer has gotten feisty with him - but KILL him over that?? It just seems like too much. Overkill (pun intended  ) Something just doesn't fit to me. Maybe it's just the writers trying to reach for something to create the threat and drama for Kate and Sawyer, but I usually have more faith in the the writers than that and just keep thinking there has to be something else.

As I said above, yes, I see that and understand that, but it still seems incongruous to me. And I thought the Others' claim that they "aren't killers". So why do Ben, Juliet, Tom etc. think it's ok for Danny to just want to kill Sawyer for no real apparent reason or just out of revenge?? :undecide:

exactly! So what are we missing here?
I was saying, why is Danny so mad at Sawyer? And my (smarter-than-me) teen said, "Well, he just hates the survivors, and he can't hurt Jack, so he takes it out on Sawyer." That's a good a reason as any other I can think of.

But I agree w/ what so many others said in this thread--so what are we missing here? Something, but what?

I think Pickett's violence against Sawyer is part of Juliet's plan to overthrow Ben. Notice that Pickett waited until Ben was unconcious to go kill Sawyer and he has had a lot of quiet conversations with Juliet. I think they are in cahoots. Ben wanted Sawyer for a reason. He was on the list (apparently Jack wasn't). Also, Ben wanted to gain Sawyer's respect ("the only way to gain a conman's respect..."). For what? Who knows. They have been trying to "break" Sawyer and they use Kate to make him comply.

I think killing Sawyer is definitely part of the anti-Ben campaign.
