When Jack asked Kate if they hurt her or what they did to her (something like that), she started crying. Maybe there IS something to the theory that they hurt her? Do you think she was manhandled by the Others after that breakfast with Ben?

THey definetly did something imo. maybe something in the way you break a wild horse.

I think we are supposed to be unsure of if she is crying because she is preparing herself to beg for Jack to do the surgery, and therefore beggging for Sawyer's life, or if she is crying because they really did do something to her at the "breakfast." I am still holding out hope for a breakfast flashback. I really don't think TPTB have closed the door on it happening.

But I really hope they didn't hurt her...

It could just be that Kate was overcome with emotion that she have to tell Jack that Sawyer needed saving. But I too am of the opinion that something absolutely happened to Kate after breakfast with Ben. Something that even after all this stuff has happend to them, she is still ashamed or afraid to tell Jack or Sawyer.

They haven't done anything to Kate, physically, aside from wearing her out and keeping her tired from breaking rocks.

Emotionally, they've put her through the ringer. She's locked up and captive, which we know is her worst fear. She's watched Sawyer (the man she's fallen in love with) be abused and zapped multiple times, beaten near to death right at her feet, and scared into submission, enough so that he had stopped fighting and was lying to her about why. And she knows that he has a death sentence hanging over his head, unless she can convince Jack to help.

Yeah. That might cause a few tears. ;)

I think it was because she had to ask Jack to do the surgery and in doing so admit she had feelings for Sawyer. I would love to see a breakfast scene FB, but right now I feel like I'd be hoping for somethign TPTB aren't plannign to do.

The put a dress on her and shorted out her "ranger" skills.

Also, this is the first time she has seen Jack in a while (and she does care about him) and she was afraid the Others were going to kill Sawyer (someone else she cares about). Dang, I was going to cry for her!

When he saw her, and the fact that he was INSIDE an aquarium and couldn't get close to her.. The moment when he awkwardly wants to touch her, but then just puts his hands on the glass was a tearjerker!

But I agree. I just think Kate was overcome with emotions, just so much happening, Sawyer might get killed, begging for his life, just finding out that Ben has a tumor that needs to be removed, etc...

I was hoping in this episode they would let us know what "went down" with the breakfast... Benry said that the next two weeks of her life were going to be terrible for her. So - Is that watching Sawyer get the Crap beat out of him every few minutes??? Was it to force her to make a choice??? Because Benry said to Jack, "If I were a betting man, I would have bet she'd have chosen you". Maybe that has been "the terrible thing" she was too suffer???

I absolutley believe that they did something to Kate when she was alone with Ben at the breakfast, when she got to the cage with Sawyer she was visibley (I think I spelt that wrong...sorry) upset and her wrists were rubbed raw...almost like she had been pulled around by them...

Are we getting another Kate episode this season? Maybe we sill see what happened in that episode if we do...

I don't think they did anything to Kate before the breakfast, during the breakfast, or after the breakfast. That is not to say that the breakfast scene doesn't hold a piece of the humongus puzzle- I do believe that there is something there that is yet to be revealed...and I think Alex holds at least part of the key. Kate was wearing a dress that was "supposed to be hers" and she (Kate) was with Ben, who we now find out has some sort of deep emotional ties to Alex (the "island father" theory sounds totally plausible to me).

No, Kate wasn't physically hurt, she was just psychologically exhausted... I don't know about any of you, but if I'm really upset or afraid about something and am around people that I don't trust, I usually act tough...hold a "stiff upper-lip", as it were. But get me around my family and I feel the total freedom to rant, cry, totally break-down, whatever...because I know they love me and truly care about me. Jack is family to Kate at this point. They've been through alot together on the island and she is able to let down her guard with him. I don't think this means she loves him in the romantic sense (although, I admit, I wish she did) like Sawyer, but she loves him nonetheless...as a family member. Just my two cents...

I totally agree. I heard, and from what we saw in the previews they are going to show what happened to Locke, Eko and Des right after the blast
So going having a Kate island flshback right after the breakfast could certainly happen and I hope it does!!!!!!

They DID do something to Kate, she was sassy and disrespectful before breakfast, had bloody wrists and all the fight knocked out ofher afterwards.

Ben (and maybe Juliet) told her that when the time is right she should jump Sawyer and have her way with him..... I'm kidding (I think).

I think they did something to Kate....or gave her an offer she could not refuse.

Thoughts... Kate was alone with Ben and clan for a while, fertility doctor on site, now she initiates sex with Sawyer... coincidence.. could be....or not. Seems odd that her thoughts are of flashbacks of the prego test with long ago hubby, now what on earth would make her think of that?

Side note: Impeccable timing for Jack to open the door to the "TV Room" just in time to see post cage love sex.

I think they most definetly did something to Kate. The fact that she had sex with Sawyer and Juliette being a fertility doctor (or so she says) has me to believe that if Kate gets pregnant by the end of the season, she might not know who the father is.......
