I hope he implied Sawyer too. I don't understand 'I need to get off this island" too. But I can't believe Jack would a jerk like that. GettinLost 11-09-2006, 12:48 AM Don't know... I'm thinking "Jack is for Kate", "Sawyer is for Kate", "Kate is for Sawyer and Jack". Perhaps Jack knows that Sawyer can take care of himself? Maybe he thought Sawyer had already been executed? Interesting... katetriss 11-09-2006, 12:49 AM I'm pretty sure he meant both of them. He knew they were at the cages and knew Sawyer was there with her from his convo with her earlier. I think he wanted to talk to Kate because he needed to tell her about the story, so he could later confirm that they got away. I definitely don't think it was some jealous thing where he only wanted Kate to survive. He knows Sawyer's life is in danger (and saw Pickett take off - he can probably put that together), so Jack is trying to save both of them. I don't understand 'I need to get off this island" too Jack wanted Ben to think this was his motivation. Ben knew Jack would be disappointed that Kate and Sawyer hooked up, so Jack took it and ran with it. I think he cooked up this little plan after Kate visited him - it was his intention all along to do the surgery and then use Ben's life to bargain for Kate and Sawyer's release. Ben seeing Jack watching Kate and Sawyer just made it all the more believable. This was the only way he could actually trust the Others to do what he asks them. IceKat55 11-09-2006, 12:51 AM I'm betting when the scene "reconvenes" in February, there will be more of Jack talking to Kate. He'll say something like "Dammit Kate, RUN, get Sawyer and get OUT of here!", or Kate will say something like "I can't go anywhere, they've got a gun to Sawyer's head!" Good cliffhanger, but easily enough remedied in Feb. silveranswer 11-09-2006, 12:56 AM I think Jack trusts Kate more than Sawyer, so he chose to talk to her. |
