Congrats on an interesting Season-3 introduction. Really interesting for those that aren't as observant as the regular (aka NORMAL) LOST watcher. :P
It's cool to see further insight on the show from a writer's point of view. Saying things like "To the survivors, it seems like a divine force" and so forth that really make it interesting for us LOST geeks. "The others 'seem' like bad guys" and so forth.

I think it was better than Season 2's introduction, though there wasn't nearly as much stuff to work with at that point in the show to make something like the 'Lost Survivor Guide'.

Great to see you guys onscreen and talking about LOST. Great intro to season 3 for those who aren't as 'into' the show as people like me and It's nice getting a refreshing overlook of the characters and so forth.

And don't worry, you guys did fine in front of the camera! Hahaha. :D

I was amazed that the producers fit so much character development into just an hour. I hope it attracts new viewers.

OK...so I'm not the biggest Jack fan; I've even briefly hoped he'd
be written off the show.......
...but I grudgingly admit I'm warming up to him again as this
season progresses.

So far, i think season three is improving and becoming compelling.
This is the second wind I've been waiting for.

This was by far the best of the LOST "specials"! I was soooooooooooooooo pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I loved hearing Damon and Carlton's thoughtful, loving take on the characters and the essential dynamics of the show. This one didn't feel like a hatchet job of snippets all stuck together, as previous specials have. I always felt that the previous specials didn't do justice to the show, as LOST is such a masterpiece that it doesn't lend itself well to "soundbyte collages", for lack of a better term. But this special was so different. Yes, there were snippets, but because the whole thing was narrated by Damon and Carlton, there was a natural and coherent flow to it and it is amazing how completely they did cover the essential dynamics of LOST in such a short time. I hope this will be a part of the Season Three DVD collection, as it was really fascinating getting their takes on the characters and the story. I can't believe that something happened and I had to leave the room and miss the beginning of them talking about my fave character, Locke!!! And my VCR doesn't work--AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! But I digress: my point is, WELL DONE, I loved it, I truly did. I also loved the humor they injected into the proceedings. Like I said, I was sooooooo pleasantly surprised by the whole hour and I think it should be on the Season Three DVD! GREAT job, guys!!!

Some fave lines (which I hope I have right--like I said, the VCR is not so much with the working):

Damon to Carlton: "Would you say that the island is extraordinary?"

In a convo about Desmond's post-hatch-explosion precognitive abilities:

Carlton: "I know what you are going to say next!"
Damon: "What am I going to say next?"
Carlton: "You're going to ask me what you're going to say next!"

LOVED it!

I totally agree that this was the best recap epi so far.

Loved seeing Damon & Carlton doing the narration & their interaction.
The show flowed much more coherently than past recaps & the information was well presented.

I always find the manner of presentation in these shows provides me a different perspective on certain points that I hadn't considered before, so I actually enjoy these shows whereas some folks find them a waste of time.

Loved it - really helped as a lead in to a new episode - I'm a dedicated fan but the guide reminded me of all (or at least a lot) of what happened up to date. I hope this will be in the next DVD set.

Damon to Carlton: "Would you say that the island is extraordinary?"

Hi there, I was wondering if you thought it was odd how he asked this?? It seemed as though the other writer emphasized "extra...ordinary," As if to say the island is normal kinda place. Am I talkin' crazy??

I didn't watch this show (I didn't know it was on for some weird reason..) but I did see the end credits and I could have sworn it said Kyle MacLachlan did the narration. You know, Agent Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks?

Best Lost recap I've seen. Previous ones were kind of dry. Lindelof and Cuse, plus good narrator, made for a good show.

No a complaint just some things that seemed notable in their ommision or lack of emphasis in the recap:

Walt
The Tailes
Alvar Hanso and the Degroots
Shannon and Boone

Since the main purpose of the special seemed to be a primer for newbies, the producers may have felt going over discontinued characters that may never be seen again was not important enough to make the cut. As for the Degoots and Hanso, they may have felt their stories can be explained again in the regular episodes if they ever become really prominent in the stortyline. The lack of mention about Walt or Michael was a little curious. Not even when they noted that Henry Gale (aka Benjamin Linus) escaped the hatch did they bother to include mention of Michael killing Ana and Libby as a key part of that sequence of events.

Interesting in their emphasis in the special;

Sayid
Kelvin
Christain
Tom
Concept of destiny

Any other things that were notable in their emphasis, or lack thereof?
