No Michael & Walt in the guide so far. Also no Boone or Shannon. Guess they are not that important. ?

Only so much you can cover in the alotted time. Takign as they're not a part of the show as of now, they aren't as important as the living characters.

We'll be seeing more of them, though.

i noticed they didnt metion walt and micheal because one of these days they are going to bring them back and want us to sort of forget about them so when they come back its more shocking.

Totally, it was amazing how much this chunk just fell through the cracks, oh well, I heard somewhere this was a
4 year story by TPTB so I'm excited to wait, watch & see :biggrin:

Note how the Other 48 Days and the Tailies were quite left out, too, especially Ana-Lucia and Libby.

I was really disappointed that they didnt even mention Michael or Walt.. after all, they're story is still ongoing. I would have liked to have seen a quick shot of Boone and Shannon also, but I can handle them not being mentioned more than I can of Michael and Walt. They still play a huge roll in this show. :shrug:

Wasn't Walt on the back of the milk carton Hurley was drinking out of?

I figure they showed us what was important to bring viewers up to date for the upcomming shows rather than trying to recap the entire series.

The storylines that weren't highlighted are those that are not impacting what's currently going on.

None of the dead or departed were included, except for Eko, and I think that's just because of the dramatic head-on (so to speak) appearance of Smokey. Nobody else had an experience quite that visual.

That's right, Fuzzy. Walt was on the milk carton. Is it foreshadowing? It was the "mention" of Micheal and Walt. Also, they did not show the Jack and Shannon's dad connection during that portion of the show.

I assume that we're going to see more of Michael and Walt sometime in the future if Walt was on the milk carton???

shannon and boone are dead, there is no way to say for sure that they will return, I do miss walt but his father who should be shot, by someone else this time, probably wouldn't be welcomed back by the losties, certainly not hurley, mike is a bastard,and should be killed by smokey. He almost got sawyer killed and maybe even jack, danny said he (jack) was not even on jacobs list so whos to say they wouldn't have killed him after the surgery on ben. I can't believe you want mike back,

I don't LIKE Michael anymore (I DO like Walt), but I would be highly offended if that key plot thread were left dangling at the end of the series. Especially since the Michael/Walt storyline got Shannon, Ana Lucia and Libby killed, almost got Sawyer, Jin, Kate, Jack and Hurley killed, and brought Eko into the path of Smoky so he could be killed. The only one who gained anything from that whole adventure was Bernard.

TPTB have said time and time again that Walt and Mike have left the island. They left...they got off the island....they were allowed to leave...end of story.

I would also like to see Mike come back and rescue everyone...but the end of the story is that they left....

First of all, I take everything TPTB say with a pound of salt.

Obviously, Michael and Walt have left the SHOW. There are many scenarios:

1. They drowned. End of story. Not very satisfying.

2. They were recaptured by the Others, who had no real intention of giving up their boat, and are being held at some unknown place.

3. They washed up on Craphole and are hiding alone in the jungle. After all, they can't very well go back to Lostaway beach, can they?

4. They made it to somewhere else, but it wasn't what they had in mind; they did not return to the civilization they had left.

5. They make it to civilization, Michael manages to conceal the whole island story, and Walt doesn't call him out on it. Again, unsatisfying.

6. They make it back to civilization and confess their story (perhaps highly edited, perhaps at Walt's prompting or coerced by Walt's powers). This, likely in combination with Penelope's efforts, becomes a key part of the puzzle allowing the outside world to rescue the Lostaways.

7. Possible variations of scenarios #2-#6: One of them survives, the other doesn't.

#7 could also work if

They are contractually unable to get Harold Perrineau to return for a guest appearance because of his new show.

Or they could write around both actors by having them send some sort of written message that would lead to results. Again, not much of a payoff, but at least it would tie up the story.

You might consider this possibility.
The producers have a practical issue regarding Walt. While the storyline has moved forward a couple of months, the actor playing Walt has aged a few years. Any other actor on the show can maintain the same appearance over that length of time. But a boy that age couldn't possibly hide the change in his physical appearance. Ergo, the producers would have no choice but to write him off the show. Which is apparently what they did.

I don't remember where I read this, it was in an interview with TPTB, and they said that they won't be doing anything with Michael or Walt this season, but they will be back next season... I'll look around and see if I can find the link...

Because that scene was a dream sequence that Hurley had...the same dream Jin was speaking english in...nothing more than that.

I try not to read to much into these summary shows, but it does seem that they went out of there way to edit Michael and Walt out. Especially on the dock scene. They mentioned everyone and made a point that they let Hurley go. But I think it was even more significant that they let Walt and Michael leave on the boat.

I was probably a bit harsh on mike. I do miss walt and his "special" abilities and it would be a shame to leave that story where it ended. mike still is a jerk but he can redeem himself
